Why Buying a Direct-to-Consumer Mattress is the Smartest Choice (For Your Body & Your Wallet)
I’ve recently hit a major life milestone— my boyfriend and I have moved in together. The first week was stressful: our couch couldn’t fit up the staircase, and our internet installation kept getting pushed back despite waiting all day for its arrival. However, our top-priority purchase (our Lull Mattress) was thankfully the one that didn’t fail us. In fact, it exceeded our expectations.
While I am the type of person who can fall asleep anywhere, the same can’t be said for my partner. He is not only an incredibly light sleeper, but a particular one, too. When we decided to move in together, we knew that a high-quality mattress would be necessary not only for our health, but also our relationship. We spent a week doing research, and ultimately landed on Lull to fulfill our dreams.
After a little bit of back and forth— can you really buy a mattress without laying on it?— we decided to go all-in for Lull. After all, the reviews were outstanding, the price was reasonable, and I knew we would have 365 nights to try out Lull in our home, risk-free.
It’s only been three months, but we are thankful every day that we chose Lull over a big box traditional mattress store. Quite simply, there are advantages of buying a direct-to-consumer mattress that the typical companies don’t even come close to competing with. Lull has been good for our bodies, our wallets, and our peace of mind.
Direct-to-consumer mattresses are higher-quality than you might expect.
Let’s get one thing straight: buying your mattress from a big-name store does not guarantee quality. In fact, some people are misled into buying mattresses they don’t love simply because of the name attached to it.
Direct-to-consumer companies tend to be more focused on quality, because they’re not relying on anything else to sell their product. Investing in a quality mattress is a worthwhile investment that is often overlooked; after all, we spend almost a third of our lives sleeping!
Lull is, and deserves to be known as, a premium memory-foam mattress company. Compared to traditional foam mattresses, Lull stays cool, bounces back, and offers three layers of support, meaning your body will thank you for investing in its health. It is also non-toxic and non-carcinogenic, making it safe and healthy for long-term use. Quite frankly, it’s exactly what you should want in a memory-foam mattress.
I’ll be honest— we were nervous for our first night on our Lull Mattress. I can’t remember the last time I slept as well as I do now. My boyfriend, who frequently bemoans of his back pain, might love our Lull more than he loves me!
Cutting out the middle man means fair prices for you.
An often-forgotten element of shopping is that the final price you see on a product pays both the company and the store. No, this doesn’t mean each party makes less cash— it means you’re spending more.
By buying direct-to-consumer, you’re eliminating the need to pay a third-party. This means your dollar can stretch farther, and you can find incredible products for unbelievable prices.
Buying direct-to-consumer has been a priority of mine for quite some time now; when I shop online, I use conglomerates to find products, but then purchase directly from the company instead of through the search platform. Not only does it often save me cash, but it also means that a larger percentage is going to the business behind the magic.
Before discovering Lull, I had never purchased a mattress online. However, my previous success with direct-to-consumer purchasing made me confident that I would find success even with a big purchase like this.
Lull doesn’t stop at offering awesome prices, though— you can finance your mattress for as low as $28 a month with 0% APR. For us, financing was a necessity; Lull’s financing option cut out the only-possible advantage we saw to using a brand-name mattress store.
You deserve to test mattresses authentically.
When I tell people that I have a Lull Mattress, the very first thing they ask is how we could buy a mattress without testing it.
My answer? We did.
Lull has a 365-night trial period for their mattress purchases. If you’re not happy, they will give you a full refund. That’s more than enough time to break in your mattress and determine how you truly feel about its feel and size.
Let’s be honest— how much can you really tell about a mattress in the 30 seconds you plop on top of it, in your coat and boots, as a store employee stares on? Lull’s trial is far more authentic than the pressure of making a decision in-person (although if you ask us, these mattresses are so comfortable that you don’t need to worry about returning it).
Direct-to-consumer mattresses make delivery a breeze.
One of our biggest concerns about moving was just that: moving. Neither of us have very big cars to bring a mattress home with, and delivery prices can be ridiculous; keep in mind that even when you get “free delivery,” you’re really just covering for the delivery in the inflated price you’re paying! Even worse, our apartment is in a shared home, and our staircase is tight and winding. We needed a delivery method that was practical, stress-free, and cost-effective.
Although we were expecting to do some compromising, Lull relieved all of our worries. Lull offers free shipping within 1-4 business days and no-contact, free delivery right to your doorstep. They are tightly-packaged into a reasonably-sized box, making stairwells a worry of the past.
Lull is reshaping the mattress market.
While some trends are temporary, others are here to stay. The quality and cost of direct-to-consumer mattresses makes them an easy bet as a current trend which will become the new normal. If you’re not jumping on the bandwagon now, you’re missing out on the best-possible option.
I don’t know what the future will hold for my boyfriend and I, but I do know that wherever we go next, our Lull Mattress will be coming with us.
