Plastic surgery is becoming a regularity for those who want to make subtle changes to their body or face. Through the latest, non-invasive technologies such as VASERlipo and microsurgery, the patient can be left with hardly any scar tissue. However, plastic surgery is still expensive and inherently risky. Also, if plastic surgery becomes a regularity, then the risk increases as well as emotional and mental issues that stem from not knowing how to be alright with one's self.

The very last thing that you want is for your issues and risks to affect your children's lives. Saying the wrong thing or not speaking through your authentic self can give your daughters the wrong message. This article describes several ways in which you can explain the motives and feelings behind your cosmetic surgery.

Always speak through your authentic self

No matter what type of direction, redirection, or instruction you have given your children, you have most likely spoken through your authentic self. Whenever you do not speak authentically, your children can pick up on your tone and the message may not be as clear. Always use your authentic self when explaining your motives, feelings, and other factors that contributed to your decision to have plastic surgery.

Clearly explain why you chose to have plastic surgery

Beating around the bush is a common habit for some people. Some people talk for several minutes without stating anything worth hearing. Do your best to clearly articulate, in common words that your daughters will understand based on their age, why you chose to have plastic surgery. Avoid vague words and be as unambiguous as possible.

Lastly, if your motives were shallow, then practice positively framing your explanation. However, if your reasoning is too shallow, then this can be a daunting task. For example, if you happened to have plastic surgery because you saw celebrities doing it, then putting a positive spin on this may take some critical thinking time.

Reinforce the risks and costs of plastic surgery

Always be truthful about not only your feelings and beliefs but also about the facts. This could look like talking about what could have happened to your body if the procedure had gone wrong, how much it set your family back financially, or even use it to explain how insurance works and doesn't work. Be receptive to your daughter's questions and be positive with your answers. You can even show them the Cosmos Clinic reviews to help portray the picture you are trying to paint for your children through other people’s experiences.

Let your daughters know that they are already beautiful

As a parent, you will want to portray that your children are the first priority. That means always thinking about how your actions and words affect your children. If you were to convey that plastic surgery is something that makes one more beautiful, then you can expect your daughters ask you to pay for their surgery for Christmas instead of getting the latest smart phone.

To avoid this, before even speaking with your daughters, think about the type of morals that you want your children to grow up with and steer your words in those directions.

This article described several suggestions for conversing with your daughters about your cosmetic surgery. Raising decent children is hard enough, not to mention keeping them on the right path along the way to adulthood. Follow the suggestions provided in this article and you will at least be in the mindset to have a fruitful conversation with your daughters about anything, but namely about your cosmetic surgery.
