Self Love (R)evolution
In the wise words of RuPaul, "If you can't love yourself, how in the hell are you gonna love somebody else?" I'm a firm believer that self-love and self-reflection are intimately linked.

'According to Vedanta, there are only two symptoms of enlightenment, just two indications, that a transformation is taking place, within you, toward a higher consciousness. The first symptom is, that you stop worrying things don't bother you any more. You become light-hearted and full of joy. The second symptom is that you encounter more and more meaningful coincidences in your life, more and more synchronicities, and this accelerates to the point where you actually experience, the miraculous'. — Deepak Chopra.

For me, washing my face before bed has always and will always be one of my most tedious beauty to-dos; however washing my hair is a very close second.
Jus L'amorePublished 6 years ago in LongevityHolistic Medicine Explained
Holistic medicine treats the body as a whole instead of parts. Conventional medicine is used to cure disease, while holistic medicine will balance the body. The practice of holistic medicine has been used in many different cultures and in many different ways to bring a balance within the body and mind. Current holistic principles are to obtain optimal health by helping the patient mentally, physically, and spiritually; treat with love and unconditional acceptance, and establish a relationship so the patient realizes they are not a statistic to you.

There are plenty of people out there who believe that PMDD can be successfully combated with mind over matter and that we should just buck up or get over whatever it is we’re feeling. They have no idea what they are talking about nor the challenges we face.

An iron band feels wrapped around my lungs as my heart pounds against my rib cage. I try to blink through the mist encroaching on the corners of my vision as the grip of anxiety takes hold of me. A whirlwind of thoughts, memories and feelings swirl violently behind my eyes. I try to hold it back, but it just keeps pushing...
Mikayla ApplebyPublished 6 years ago in LongevityRipples, Quakes, and Explosions
Ripples, quakes, and finally an explosion. If I had words to express this, I would speak them aloud, but instead it comes in ripples, quakes, and explosions that begin in my head but move violently through my body as well. I have no control over this and no options. I have given up the bloody violence of razors and knives I once would inflict upon myself to calm the inner violence. Occasionally though, my hands disagree with my choice and inflict their own form of minor violence in the form of punches to other parts of my body. I cannot hold all of it inside. If I had words to express this, I would speak them aloud.
Embrace Change
Sometimes the pain we feel inside is like a little bitty caterpillar's metamorphosis yanking at the center of your stomach fighting for a sense of direction trying to guide you where it's hard to see where you are going; because going up the stairs, you haven't yet made it to the top to see what's there. Haven't yet reached its destination. We hurt because we don't understand the proper purpose of change. Stress is strain, mental or emotion tension which causes anxiety and depression in the body. Stress—as I call it—is just the UN-understood feeling of the process of change that is required for the next level in one's life that is NOT necessarily unwanted, but is misunderstood.

One year ago today, I embarked on a journey that has totally changed my life. After suffering in pain for 21 years after a car accident, and finding no relief through conventional medicine, I sought alternative methods. I asked the Divine for help. I was using a cane and a wheelchair seemed to be in my near future. I knew I had a trip to Italy coming up in 11-12 months. Something had to shift.
Cindy MoorePublished 6 years ago in LongevityBest Apps to Help You Sleep Better
Some people will do anything to sleep, myself included. From natural remedies and oils to meditation and medication, there are hundreds of options promising sleep but delivering very little. So, it only makes sense with the plethora of technology and information today that people are now using apps to help them get the zzz’s they need. I mean let’s be honest, if you can track your movement, weight, and food intake while finding love through social media, then you should be able to use your phone or tablet to assist you with sleeping.
Jus L'amorePublished 6 years ago in LongevityEveryone Wants Happiness
In life, we all seem to desire our own individual things. It may be about money, family, romance, friendships, anything to do with ourselves physically, or an ideal career. However, everything mentioned above comes down to us all desiring the exact same thing. Which is happiness.
