Although smartwatches are not smart enough to tell you how to deal with your spouse, they are smart enough to help you with numerous things. The modern market is full of them; you visit a shop dealing in cell phones & accessories, and you’ll find more companies than you can remember. So, how to decide on the right smartwatch for you? There are a few things that a smartwatch must be capable of doing. This article will reveal it all to you.

Things to look for when buying a smartwatch

Buying a smartwatch without considering a few must-have features will not be very smart. When it comes to smartwatches, different companies offer a set of different features. This might confuse you down to anxiety. To simplify things and pull you out of the quandary, we are listing 6 things you should look for in a smartwatch.

1 – Battery Life

Smartwatches run on batteries. If you love smartwatches, you must also love their batteries to stand the test of time. Ironical! We know. These days, because of peaking competition, companies are trying every titbit to gain a competitive advantage. For the same, there are companies that find batteries to be their USP. Although batteries are important, you should not solely rely on them. Buy a watch that can run for a few days on a single charge.

2 – Health trackers

Most watches these days can tell you a few basic things about your health. These watches use sensors to detect your body movements and thus infer a few things regarding your health. The more health tracking features, the higher the cost. Most basic watches can easily tell you your pulse rate, step count, SPO2 levels, etc. The higher you go in the price range, the more features you’ll get.

3 – Calling features

If you have a smartwatch, you must have one that can help you pick up or reject your calls. These watches use wireless connectivity to link themselves to your phone. Apart from calling, many watches allow you to read your messages. Again, depending on the number of features you’ll be having, the price will wave.

4 – Device locators

There always comes a day when we are in a hurry for a meeting but in the end moment, we fail to locate our car keys. Now, many smartwatches are there that save time (apart from telling the time) and help you locate phones, keys, etc.

5 – SOS

We can’t always reach our phone in case of emergencies. Sometimes a mere minute can mean a difference between life and death. If you can get the SOS feature in your smartwatch after spending a few more bucks, we consider it to be worth it. Look for eBay alternatives to get yourself some money saved without compromising on the quality.

6 – Pair and Play

Connect your watch to your phone using the relevant app, open the music app (but this time in the watch), and stream songs directly to your pods. The good thing? You do not have to take out your phone every time you do not like the song on the track.

Apart from playing music, most watches can also update your health metrics on an app. This can be very helpful if you want to see your reports in a meaningful format. Before buying, always check if the watch is compatible with your current phone.

Although having these basic features in your watch won’t make it on par with Einstein, it surely will make it seem smarter as compared to other watches.
