Almost every woman around me, who is in their 30's,pass through a struggling phase. These folks find it difficult to find a balance between family, career and mental peace. Somewhere in the long journey they lose grip of physical and mental well being. As a mother of three toddlers, I too find it difficult to find the right balance that eventually affected my mental health. There are many valuable lessons that I realized over the past few years on how to deal with uncertain situations and maintain a stable mental state.

1. Acknowledge the Challenges:

Recognizing the difficulties is the first step. It's okay to acknowledge the struggles and challenges you face. Not every plan needs to work out, especially when dealing with kids - plans, routines, and everything else may change. Feel free to adjust yourselves to these random changes. Over time, you learn to embrace these disruptions and become adept at handling uncertainties. This adaptability fosters flexibility, and in turn, you acquire the superpower of resilience.

2. Prioritize Self-Care:

Emphasizing the importance of self-care is crucial. Taking care of yourself enables you to better care for your family. There used to be days when you were completely engaged, but when you realise you are too tired, take a break. Relax, enjoy your favourite show, or talk to your friends; take a nap if required or stay in silence. This refreshes the mind and immediately heals your body. This works like magic, and you will be surprised to see that you are all boosted up with energy after taking this time for yourself.

3. Set Realistic Expectations:

Understanding that perfection is unattainable is a crucial realization on the journey of self-care. Setting realistic expectations for oneself becomes a valuable tool in alleviating unnecessary pressure. It's important to be reminded that expectations vary from person to person, and there's no one-size-fits-all approach to what constitutes success or fulfilment.

4. Seek Support:

Building a support system, whether through friends, family, or online communities, is essential. Sharing experiences with others who understand can provide valuable insights and emotional support.

5. Time Management:

Efficient time management is key. Prioritize tasks and allocate time for work, family, and personal needs. Setting goals and working towards them help achieve progressive approach in life. Keep oneself updated about everything happening around them. Be it about recent technologies, news updates, movies or individual fields that interest you.

6. Learn to Say No:

It's okay to decline additional responsibilities when you feel overwhelmed. Learning to say no helps in maintaining a healthy balance. Define a clear cut line in taking up responsibilities. None other than you would determine the responsibilities you take up. Limiting the responsibilities generates better results.

7. Schedule "Me Time":

Dedicate time for yourself regularly. Whether it's a hobby, exercise, or simply quiet time, it's crucial for mental well-being. Me time should include a hobby, a workout session, meditation or introspection, updates about current world and entertainment to keep oneself relaxed. These routines have proved to uplift self esteem and boost confidence.

8. Professional Help:

If needed, don't hesitate to seek professional assistance. A therapist or counselor can provide valuable guidance during challenging times. Its better to be late than never. Ask for help at every stage. Few things may be granted if asketh. Never delay these supports. Also its never too late.

9. Celebrate Small Wins:

Acknowledge and celebrate small achievements. It's essential to recognize and appreciate your efforts. Teach yourself to appreciate your efforts. Lift your self esteem with these little appreciations and rewards like treating yourself with your favourite food, accessories or a self talk in front of a mirror. Never wait for anybody else to appreciate your efforts.

10. Reflect and Adjust:

Regularly reflect on your situation and make necessary adjustments. Life circumstances change, and so should your strategies. Everyday is different. Design your day as you wish. Later in these stages do we realize that everything happening with us is the outcome of our practices and desires. So lets design them beautifully, being responsible for everything that happens and looking for a solution to move forward in every obstacle.
