The DEA and law enforcement agencies push for limitations without fully understanding the impact on legitimate pain patients. Consequently, millions of individuals struggling with pain find it challenging to access the necessary medications and are unfairly stigmatized as drug addicts. Patients face fear and discrimination when attempting to obtain prescriptions. Doctors and pharmacists, influenced by the opioid crisis, may be cautious when filling legitimate prescriptions. This situation leaves patients anxious about how they should present themselves to receive the help they need. Patients encounter difficulties when trying to fill their prescriptions. For instance, I have personally endured the overwhelming burden of chronic pain for 17 years, starting from the age of 15. This ongoing struggle with pain not only affects my daily life and relationships but also casts a shadow over my prospects.
