Firstly, a brand can decide to end their partnership with you at any time, leaving you without income. Additionally, you risk potential backlash and a decrease in views or even a banned account. All these factors can negatively impact your ability to secure brand deals and get paid. Trust me, you don't want to build your livelihood on something as uncertain as brand deals. That being said, I understand that many creators still desire brand deals and are interested in how to secure them. So, I'll share a secret with you: even creators with just 10,000 followers can earn thousands of dollars per month.

Brand partnerships are a simple strategy that anyone can implement. One effective approach is to proactively reach out to brands yourself, making it easy for them to connect with you by including your email or contact information in your bio. Additionally, if you have over 100,000 followers, you can join the TikTok Creator Marketplace. However, the key to securing brand deals is not solely based on your follower count or views. It's important to position yourself as an asset to the brand rather than simply seeking payment or free products. To achieve this, you must demonstrate to the brand that they will receive a return on their investment. No brand will pay you if they don't believe they'll see a positive return. Therefore, it's crucial to exemplify your value to them. Regardless of your follower count.

The second method of monetizing your account is through affiliate marketing. I highly recommend getting into affiliate marketing regardless of your niche. It is much easier than securing brand deals because you don't need permission from anyone. No matter what niche you're in, you can easily find numerous affiliate marketing programs with a quick Google search. Search for "best affiliate marketing programs for fitness," "best affiliate marketing programs for gaming," "best affiliate marketing programs for books," or any other niche, and you'll find plenty of options. Additionally, you can find many successful viral TikTok posts related to affiliate marketing. To choose the right affiliate programs, consider two factors. First, look at the percentages they offer for payouts. Ideally, you want to earn 20% to 40% of the revenue from affiliate deals. It would be even better if you could find a program that pays you monthly. For example, if you partnered with VidIQ and taught people how to grow on YouTube, you would earn a monthly commission for each person who signs up. Over time, this income would grow significantly as your subscriber base expands. Secondly, make sure that the affiliate products or services you promote are valuable to your audience. If they don't find it useful, they won't sign up.

The third method of earning money through TikTok is by joining the TikTok Creator Fund or by participating in paid duets or paid sounds. It's important to note that joining the TikTok Creator Fund does not decrease your views, despite what some people may say. There is a lot of misinformation circulating, similar to the recent discussions about the community guidelines. However, after March 7th, I no longer see any comments about it. Many people on TikTok and the internet, in general, tend to talk about things without fully understanding them.

Now, let me share with you my favorite way to monetize TikTok and social media in general. The issue with monetizing your social media presence is that the biggest influencers on one platform may not be the biggest on another. For example, the top influencers on Vine were not necessarily the biggest on YouTube, and the biggest on Instagram may not be the biggest on TikTok. This is because they fail to grasp a fundamental concept. When you build a following on a social media platform, you are essentially growing a following on that specific platform. Eventually, the platform will require you to pay to reach your audience. I'm not suggesting that TikTok will implement this anytime soon, as it may take years for that to happen.

However, it's crucial to understand that if you truly want to monetize your social media presence, you should focus on developing your own product or service. This will be the most effective way for you to grow. By taking advantage of TikTok's current organic reach, you can capture more leads, gather email addresses and phone numbers, and convert more people into paying customers.

Once you have their information, you have control over the relationship with the customer. You're no longer reliant on Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, or any other platform, as you have established a direct line of communication. You know where they live, you have their email, and you have their phone number. This allows you to introduce new products, offer solutions, and provide additional value to them, ultimately increasing your monetization opportunities.
