Do you miss enjoying the taste and aroma of healthy vegetables again?

Whether you live in a block of flats or do not have enough space in the garden, you will be able to do this again if you choose to grow vegetables in pots. Read the tips you need to keep in mind in your new adventure!

How to choose the vegetable pot

When choosing the container in which to grow the desired vegetables, you need to focus on large models. Remember that the plant needs space to grow properly. In addition, you will put more soil in the large pots, which means that you will not have to water the vegetables all the time because the soil will keep its moisture longer.

Also, make sure that the containers used have drain holes for excess water. If you can't find some in the market, you can make a few holes at home.

You can use a drill or use a screwdriver heated in the fire. Don't forget to put plates under the pots. If the drainage is not done as per the book, the potted vegetables will not grow well or even dry out.

The type of soil used for potted vegetables

You probably already know that the soil found in the trade is treated with different chemicals, so you should be well informed about the company from which you buy it, especially if you are a follower of organic electricity.

For your vegetables to benefit from quality soil, find out if there is a useful mix on the market for their development or prepare one yourself. In addition to the usual soil, it relies on peat moss, perlite, and natural fertilizer (beef bone meal, seaweed, etc.). You can also periodically use a dilute fish emulsion solution.

How to plant vegetables in pots

Plant vegetables in pots at the same time as they are grown in the garden. It all depends on the type of vegetables you choose. Make a deep hole or ditch in the ground (depending on the type of pot you choose) and sprinkle seeds in the area, then cover the place. Carefully read the instructions on the seed packets.

Since there is a possibility that not all of them will grow, but more and you will then remove the excess plant (if necessary). After planting the seeds, add water. If you do not want to use seeds, you can also turn to specialty stores and just move the seedlings to your pots.

The perfect place for your vegetables

Many vegetables need about six hours of sunlight a day, so you need to make sure that the place you have chosen for the pots provides the necessary conditions. Place the containers in a warm area.

Also, potted vegetables should be kept away from pets, so you should keep them in a place where they do not have access. An inadequate environment could make plants sick. They will become weaker in the face of pest attacks, so it is a good idea to check their condition frequently.

If you have decided to grow potted vegetables, it is essential to know their needs and make sure that you can take care of them properly. The keywords are quality soil, drainage, fertilizer, water, light, proper temperature.

Three vegetables that can be grown in pots:

1. Beans. It needs pots about 40 centimeters deep. The planting temperature is 15 degrees Celsius in the soil. The seeds are planted in loose soil, mixed with sand and gravel at the bottom for drainage, at a depth of 1.5–3 centimeters.

2. Carrots. They need wide vessels with an ideal depth of 35 centimeters. However, it also supports depths of 20–30 centimeters, if you pick them young.

Planting soil temperature should be at least 12 degrees Celsius. Sprinkle the seeds directly on the soil surface and mix gently with it. Water so that the soil is always moist. It can't stand puddled water.

3. Cucumbers. They are some of the most adaptable for the vegetable solution in pots. They need vessels with a depth of 45 centimeters, and a soil temperature of 21 degrees Celsius. Trick! Use bamboo trellis and water the plant daily as long as it has flowers.
