Maybe you're struggling to make ends meet. The bills are piling up. Or maybe you just want to have a little extra cash for spending every month. Whatever the case, there are plenty of ways to reduce spending right at home.

Food Planning:

One way to ensure you're saving a few bucks is the food that you're eating. Whether you're cooking for a family of five or just you, meal planning is very lucrative.

Couponing is a great solution to money issues. Many stores send them right to your house in the mail or you can get online and print them off. Some stores even have digital coupons.

Write a grocery list for meals in advance so you can cut out cost from greasy fast food. There will be no reason to make a detour for $2 tacos when you already have a healthy, delicious meal prepped out at home. It's impossible to lose.

Get Rid of Cable/Satellite tv:

Paying a bundle for your tv channels is so expensive but what are you getting in return? Usually nothing of value. 500 channels of shows that don't truly interest you. Streaming services such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, for our anime fans, Crunchyroll: these companies offer thousands of titles. Series and movies that you actually want to watch, and for a low price too. Switching over to online services will relieve you from paying a pricy bill every month.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle:

The best way to save money is to be cautiously aware of what you're throwing away. The next time you're done with something and you're about to throw it away, stop and think. Is it recyclable? Can you use it as compost? Would someone else be able to get use from it?

Refrain from throwing things away if it's going to benefit another person, or if it can be recycled. Garbage disposal services are wicked expensive, terrible for the environment, and are a genuine eye sore. Saving money and helping the environment simultaneously is a win.

Homemade Gifts:

With Christmas coming up, money is the source of many problems. This year, think about changing things up. Pinterest has millions of ideas for fun, inexpensive crafts and baked goods. Not only will it be a memorable gift but it will be cost effective. It's an easy alternative to blowing your pay checks on calendars and holiday themed ties that will no doubt be thrown a way in a few years time. Why not make your loved ones something they'll always remember?

Going Digital:

Keeping up with your bills online is a smart way to save your wallet some funds. Credit card companies give you points when you use your card at gas stations, equalling out to big savings. Pay attention to your phone bill too. Bundling your plans when you're paying for multiple lines will help. Also, paying online will give you a discount. You save money for just paying your cell phone bill. How cool is that?

Cutting Down on Gas:

Don't be afraid to car pool or use public transportation. Not only is it a cheaper way to get around, but it's also a great way to save the planet. Über and Lyft are growing in popularity around the world, not just for New Yorkers anymore. Buses are also an option. Think about how much gas you'll be saving even if you skip driving twice a week.

Thrift Shopping:

Before heading out for household items, why not check out your local thrift stores? It's silly not to take a look before spending oodles of money on something you could potentially get for much cheaper. Thrift shops have everything from clothes to books to future. Utensils, appliances, and even electronics. Shopping on a budget will be easier when you cut down on the cost of everyday items.

In Conclusion:

Spending less money on these things will help you save a few bucks in the long run, allowing you to have some extra spending cash every month.
