Garlic is a plant of the onion species. This plant has a strong odor due to which it has been given the status of a medicine. Garlic is used all over the world as a spice, chutney, sauce, pickle and medicine. The calorific value of garlic is 145.

1. Respiratory disorders, asthma

Garlic can prove to be extremely beneficial for asthma patients. To make breathing easy, heat a petal of garlic and eat it with salt. To reduce asthma, take two spoons of honey and 10 drops of garlic juice in a cup of hot water. Taking 3 petals of garlic boiled in milk before sleeping can reduce the problem of asthma to a great extent at night. To get relief from asthma, grind garlic finely and put it in 120 ml malt vinegar and boil it. After cooling, filter it and prepare it by adding the same amount of honey. Take this with 2 spoons of fenugreek extract before sleeping. To get relief in pneumonia, boil one gram of garlic and 250 ml of milk in a liter of water. Keep boiling till it becomes one fourth. Take this milk thrice a day. To get relief in tuberculosis, garlic should be boiled in milk; it has been told in Ayurveda.

2 . Digestive disorders

Garlic helps in flushing out the toxins from the body. Improves the secretion of digestive juices, due to which the spiral movement of the intestines gets speeder up. In any digestive disorder, garlic extract can be taken with milk or water. The use of garlic is beneficial in bacterial infections of the intestines. It is also deforming and eating two bales of garlic every day gives great benefits. One capsule of garlic is sufficient in colitis, dysentery. To get relief from all diseases of the stomach, taking one part of garlic, one-fourth part of hing, roasted in rock salt and ghee, with ginger juice is very beneficial.

3 . High blood pressure

With proper use of garlic, the pressure and tension on the blood vessel gets worked out. The speed of pulse and vibration of the heart is reduced. For the treatment of high blood pressure, take six drops of garlic oil, twice with four spoons of water. To reduce the increased blood pressure, chutney made from garlic, mint, cumin, coriander, black pepper and rock salt should be taken.

4. Heart disease

Regular consumption of garlic helps in easy release of cholesterol accumulated in the blood vessels and reduces the chances of heart attack.

If someone is prone to heart attack, then he must take 5-6 petals every day. Taking garlic along with milk is also very beneficial for health.

5. Cancer

Continuing the regular consumption of garlic in cancer increases the number of white blood cells and the growth of cancer cells is reduced by 139%.

6 . Skin disorder

To reduce pimples and acne, garlic should be applied regularly on the face. Rubbing garlic on the skin where there has been an outbreak of ringworm cures that bad skin by burning. Garlic purifies the blood and removes toxins from the blood. To remove wounds and stains, apply garlic juice 3:1 in sterile clean water.

Garlic is also very beneficial for diseases like whooping cough, blood defects, goiter, deafness, leprosy, gout, piles, liver and gall bladder disorders etc. Garlic can be used due to low libido, weak sexual power.

Garlic bush is 2 - 3 feet high. 5 to 35 garlic petals are found in its root tuber. Only one garlic comes in a special type of garlic tuber, on which there is a white and transparent membrane.

Two types of garlic

Kashmiri Garlic: This garlic is grown on the high hills of the Himalayas. Because this garlic is grown in a pure environment, medicinal elements are abundant in it.

Common Garlic: Its root has 5 to 35 petals. Only one garlic is found in a garlic tuber.

Land

The land for plowing garlic should be fertile, friable and non-holding of water. So that the garlic is well grown and it can be removed easily.

The production of garlic is affected in very hot or very cold weather. It requires more water for its production. If the availability of water is abundant, then this crop can be taken throughout the year. Garlic grows well in cold and dry weather.

Caution

Garlic is a vegetable with hot and pungent properties. People of Pitta Prakrit should take it only with the advice of Vaidya.

Do not eat garlic during pregnancy.

Garlic should be taken with sugar in Pitta disorder, with honey in Kapha disorder and with Ghee in Vata disorder.
