If you are tired of the job you already have, surely the way to break free is to dust off your resume and spread your wings for a new opportunity. But before you do that, think carefully about whether there is still a chance that you will love your job again.

As in any relationship, you do not need to resort directly to “divorce”, but with a little work, you may be able to save what is good and worth saving.

Remember how happy you were when you first started in the job you are in now. How much you liked and loved going.

But you probably feel that this freshness has worn off and that the routine has completely paid off. And once you feel the horror of Sunday that ends up flooding you, then surely something must change immediately.

That’s why I have 6 tips to make you love your job again before you make any move to leave it:

1. Think about whether you can love your job again

Find space and time to distance yourself from your daily routine and be able to think of some things for your work. All you can do is take a few days off, spend a weekend away from the city, or just take a day off.

It is necessary to be able to calmly see all the dimensions of the problem, in order to understand if you can love your work again. So ask yourself these three questions and try to answer them honestly:

What do you enjoy most about your job?

What are its best points?

Can you do it in a different way to reconnect with her?

2. Do not be afraid to ask for what you want

Most managers prefer to retain existing staff, as it is expensive and time-consuming to enter the recruitment process. So take advantage of it and do not sit in silence.

Instead, talk to your manager about not enjoying your job as much as you used to. It is also a good opportunity to ask for some changes in order to “slip” the thing better, something that will ultimately benefit the company.

He may not agree with everything you ask for, but if you can make a difference in some of the key things you want, then it will make you feel valued and needed.

So make an assessment of what will help you fall in love with your job again — do you want to work on a new project, acquire a new skill or work from home once a week?

Being able to get what you are looking for will help you change how you feel and love your job again.6 Ways to Love Your Job Again

3. Change your point of view and mentality if you want to love your job again

When you no longer enjoy what you do, it is very easy to get caught up in negative thoughts and feelings. This means that you tend to focus on everything you do not like and thus lose touch with reality.

What is needed, however, is to make a conscious effort to focus on all those areas that are enjoyable about your job. So you have to reprogram your brain in order to return to its old views and love your work again.

After all, focusing on the positive is a much more enjoyable way to spend time than to constantly whine. Also, try to avoid people who like to blame how bad the company or the job is and try to reinforce a more positive mentality around it.

Another trick that can help you is to choose a word and repeat it in order to maintain a positive mood.

4. Use your strengths

Research has shown that we are happier and more confident when we can use all our essential potential on a daily basis.

To better understand what I’m telling you, you can do a simple check on how you use your strengths at work and find ways to reinforce them.

5. Train and evolve

It is time to take over the process of further training and development.

Check if you have the skills or qualifications that could either expand your current role or help you specialize more in it.

You can find a variety of ways you can do this, either through formal or non-formal learning, and thus make a plan to avoid deviating from this plan.

After all, it is your sole responsibility to fulfill all your potential.

6. Correct everything that bothers you

What is it that breaks your nerves? Can you fix it? If so, make the necessary changes.

You can fix even the smallest things of everyday life (eg there is no coffee to drink) by making the right schedule (so you have time to buy milk, tea or coffee for your breakfast).

Even for something more serious, that is, if it irritates you that the supervision sessions with your boss are often canceled, a state in writing that you would like to do them at regular intervals, in order to be able to claim better conditions.

Whatever is bothering you, try to smooth it out as much as you can and if you do not succeed, at least accept that you can not fix it and move on.

Do the best you can to be able to love your job again. Even if in the end nothing helps you to love her again, then do not stay in any job you do not love.
