Today, working from home is in high demand. Many people across the globe are working from the place they love most, which is the comfort of their home. If you are working from home, you can work from anywhere. You call this freedom and flexibility — freedom to do as you please and the flexibility to work from wherever you want and the time you want.

Many well-known companies offer work-at-home jobs such as Apple, American Express, Turbo Tax, Disney, and more. Working for companies like these give you peace of mind, knowing that you are working for a legitimate business. You can assure that you will receive payment for your time and effort.

Even though there are lots of legitimate work-at-home companies, people still have many questions they see as unanswered, leaving them skeptical about working from home. They wonder about some jobs requiring fees before starting work and worry if it is a scam.

Some jobs require fees simply for materials, background checks, or other legitimate reasons. Sometimes to get decent pay, a starting fee is required. If you feel hesitant about starting any job, do your due diligence first. You can do this by researching as much as possible or having someone with experience do it for you. You can visit work-at-home websites with reviews from people like yourselves, which will give you information about a particular business.

Another great source is the Better Business Bureau. You can search different businesses to see if they are accredited — some may, and some may not be. Some information you will see are the website owners, email addresses, phone numbers, website addresses, and the grade given to the company by the Better Business Bureau.

Some companies will have ratings, even if they’re not accredited. Ratings range from A to F. Note that some businesses with good ratings aren’t always the best, and some with lower ratings aren’t always the worst. The Better Business Bureau doesn’t determine how a company pays you. It determines if a company is in business or not and reports every scam made known to the Better Business Bureau.

If the information you are looking for is not on the Better Business Bureau, I suggest searching for the company in search engines like Google, Bing, or Yahoo. There will be reviews from people who have had experience with that particular business. If you are skeptical about being scammed, there are tons of information on the web to help you avoid them.

By taking the necessary steps, you too will find a legitimate, work-at-home job that will provide you with freedom and flexibility.

To help you get started, here is a side gig to generate some extra income.

Usertesting

Usertesting is a website where you can complete tests for cash. You will do tests for clients of Usertesting. These tests are available to take on your PC or mobile device such as cellular phones and tablets. Different tests are specifically for browsers such as Google, Microsoft Edge, and Firefox. The same goes for systems, where some tests will require an Android, IOS, and or Windows device. You will need to add Usertesting’s extension to your device to participate. This company is legitimate, safe, and pays well if you get enough tests completed.

Types of Tests

Some tests are audio, and some are through video. You will be redirected to websites to review current companies and online products, and sometimes prototypes. You will talk aloud as you navigate through these websites and the test instructions.

Ratings

To get your rating, you will need to sign up with Usertesting and take their practice test. You will rate anywhere from one to five stars. The higher the ratings, the more money you can make. You will need to have at least a four-star rating to get a good amount of test offers. Make sure you continue to do your best on tests as ratings can change. Clients listen to your test and sometimes rate you.

Payments

Each test offers no lower than $10 per test. There are $30- and $90-dollar tests as well. Usertesting pays every seven days, so in other words, it’s sort of like a weekly income if that’s what you want to make of it. Payments are through PayPal.
