  • In 2021, A Catholic Bishop Resigned After He Fell In Love With A Satanic Erotica Novelist.

The youngest bishop in all of Spain at the time, Xavier Novell, 41, was ordained as a Catholic bishop in 2010. Devout worshipers saw him as the perfect embodiment of their faith for the modern day, which is why they were so shocked when, in August 2021, he resigned from his office after falling in love with a writer of Satanic erotica.

Novell asserted that his first interaction with Silvia Caballol was with good motives. Novell hoped to become a more effective exorcist because her books are replete with information on the occult and demonic investigation. He fell in love with Caballol, though, and left his post rather than learning more about the topic.

“I have fallen in love and want to do things properly,” the bishop said.

Before going public, Novell told people at the Vatican about the situation and talked to the Pope about it. In the end, he was encouraged to start a new life with the 38-year-old divorced author. Maybe the strangest thing is that this event caused more trouble than Novell's beliefs.

He had been a strong supporter of gay conversion therapy and even said he had gone through it himself. One of his coworkers said that Novell was "out of his mind" and that he "doesn't have good mental health or emotional balance."

Bishop Xavier Novell was known to be very controversial

Xavier Novell has, in the end, made his own bed, and he seems to be happy to lie in it now. He is a new agronomist in Barcelona. He went from being a servant of God to the lover of the divorced author of The Hell of Gabriel's Lust. This is one of the most unusual changes for a clergyman in recent history.

  • In 2021, A 90-year-old AT&T customer bought an ad in the Wall Street Journal to complain about his slow Internet speeds.
  • Aaron Epstein became dissatisfied with AT&T after decades of loyalty. Millions of people around him enjoyed high-speed internet connection while Epstein’s neighborhood of North Hollywood, California, was still stuck with AT&T’s sluggish service. Therefore, he took an extreme action.

Epstein acquired a $10,000, quarter-page advertisement in The Wall Street Journal to publicly address AT&T's CEO, John T. Stankey. The advertisement was accompanied with a carefully crafted, forthright but courteous letter.

Epstein had relied on AT&T's outmoded DSL connections for years, which may make his decision sound desperate. In fact, his internet was so slow that he and his wife were unable to view movies because streaming sites would continually load.

Perhaps most surprisingly, the public humiliation of AT&T was successful. The day after Epstein's advertisement ran, he said that two technicians installed fiber optic wires behind his home.

    • A New Zealand City Council Fired Its Official Wizard After 20 Years Of Service

In 1976, when Ian Brackenbury Channell first appeared in the town square in Christchurch, New Zealand, many were perplexed. The self-proclaimed wizard, clothed in a cloak and pointed hat and standing on a ladder, addressed pedestrians and cast spells.

Initially, the police attempted to forcibly remove Channell, but neighbors protested in his favor. The New Zealand Gallery Directors Association named Channell a Living Work of Art in 1982, and he continued to perform freely every day.

In 1998, when he accepted the city's offer to become the official, state-appointed wizard of Christchurch, his true legacy began. Channell enjoyed an annual tax-free compensation of $11,000 from the city for nearly a quarter century, until the municipal council canceled his contract in October 2021.

The city council, determined to abandon aesthetics associated with The Lord of the Rings, crafted a new tourism campaign in which the wizard of yore had no role, and city spokesman Lynn McClelland stated that he will "forever be a part of our history."

The move, however, caused Channell to beat his employees in a fit of wrath.
