THE FUTURE OF HUMAN EXPLORATION
Venus, one of the most captivating and perilous planets in our solar system, presents a myriad of challenges for potential human settlement. With its scorching temperatures, crushing atmospheric pressure, and acid rain, Venus may seem inhospitable. However, some individuals believe that it could be a more suitable option for human colonization compared to Mars. The question remains: is it even feasible to establish a human settlement on Venus? Before embarking on such an endeavor, extensive testing and data collection are imperative. Robotic missions need to be launched to map out the planet, gather information about its environment, and assess its viability for human habitation. Although spacecraft have been profiling Venus since 1961, there is still much to learn about its surface. The last US mission to Venus occurred three decades ago, but with upcoming satellite missions in the 2020s and 2030s, such as the one Noam Eisenberg is involved in, we hope to gain a deeper understanding of Venus. As we contemplate the idea of colonizing Venus, we must don our science fiction hats and consider the immense challenges that lie ahead.

The Real Meaning Of Christmas
It is a sense of great sadness that I speak of the passing of Shane MacGowan of The Pogues. Clearly, the man was a tortured soul with serious alcohol and drug addictions. As somebody once said, all great artists are also piss artists. It seems that getting spaced out of your mind is all part and parcel of being a genius. Ultimately, it is a condition that inevitably leads to decline and self-destruction. All we are left with is a legacy of the art that such people created whilst they were alive and at their peak.

Goodbye and Good Riddance 2023
The year 2023 is coming to an end and I can only thank the universe that this is finally happening. Why, you may ask? 2023 has been a tough year……an extremely rough year and it all started on the 1st January 2023, and most days of this horrific year has beaten me bloody and raw.

The Rituals That Define Us
One of my favorite things about the world is that you can invent traditions. We treat Elf On A Shelf as this thing that goes hand-in-with Xmas, but it came out in 2005. I was a senior in High School already, which means that I've been around roughly twice as long as Elf On A Shelf and celebrating holidays, and not charging a damn thing to anybody to be involved in their celebrations (I don't even have an expectation of gifts... feed me and I'm happy usually, and if you can't do that then add "bring a dish to pass" to the invite and we'll fall back on good ol' Socialism like we always do whenever it turns out Capitalism failed).
