Chapter 2
The first day of work for the company I had to scan in to the time clock which could not be done any sooner than 5 minutes prior to my scheduled time. Then there is finding a clear computer and setting up the station for business by putting the tape into the tape deck and booting up the computer. Once this part is done it is the briefing on what we are selling and the numbers that we need to hit that day. Then the “fun” begins.

Solving For 'When': How Data Science is Cracking Marketing's Toughest Problem
In marketing, as in showbiz, timing is everything. Even if you know what you want to say and who your audience is, when you deliver your message can be the difference between a sale and an abandoned shopping cart.
Rob SalkowitzPublished 6 years ago in Journal Unpaid Internships
At the risk of looking like an "asshole, lazy millennial," I want to discuss unpaid internships and their benefits to our society or lack thereof. In the past, internships of any kind were the golden gate for experience in the workplace. The benefits of having an internship meant that one would have the necessary skills to help later in a job—usually with the same company! When unpaid internships were amazing was when people did not need quite as much to live comfortably. These internships usually lead immediately to a job with that company or at the very least gave enough experience that a job was found fairly quickly afterwards. The benefits from these have dwindled in my opinion, sure the experience is great, but at what price?

Michael DeanePublished 6 years ago in JournalI Started a Business and It Was Surprisingly Easy
I think almost everyone dreams of doing something big with themselves or by themselves (to a degree) as they grow up. "I'm going to open my own gym." "I want to run my own restaurant." "I'm going to become a dental floss tycoon." You know, the usual hopeful successes. What I've felt is that most everyone uses it as a mental escape from their current situation. In my own analytics (from nowhere except the randomization of my thought process), about 70% of these are pipe dreams. People want it, but they don't really plan on going for it. So what's interesting is that I never once in my life thought to myself, "I'm going to partner up with someone and start a Motorsports Marketing business." Yet it happened.
Christina HallPublished 6 years ago in Journal10 Business Norms that Damage a Corporation
Call it crazy but there are those who love to work. Mondays mean the start of productive bliss and not the blues. Weekend work emails are still switched on, in case that important client gets in touch. Shock, horror, there are some who don't even mind working for a comparatively lower salary or five figure bonus. It's something corporations would be only be too happy to hear, but due to current workplace habits, a keen worker is something they can only dream of.
How Did I Get Here?
How did I get here? A woman of 27, a mum to three beautiful children and partner to one adoring man. The same time every year there is an urge for change bubbling away in the depths of my soul, something needing to be tweaked at, changed, even. Never feeling satisfied with just how far I have come on this journey called life. Living my life, always chasing after my next move; could this be the next big thing for me? Could this be the one that makes me successful? I'm like a donkey chasing a carrot that's being held in front of its face on a string.

Before the surge of corporate entities, there were small businesses. No matter where you live or are visiting, mom-and-pop shops are likely part of the town's makeup.

Like many others, I had finished school as a two time graduate. I made my mother proud but after College I really was lost!! I got a job working at a hospital as security in the Emergency and Trauma unit, along with studying for my Corrections Exam and working as a Bartender, Server and Manager at a restaurant. I know what you're thinking... how did I manage all that. Truth is i'm not quite sure myself, I just did it. I worked day shifts at the restaurant, took a nap went to the hospital from 7pm to 7am and studied on my breaks. My days off weren't really days off because that was when I found time to go to the gym, study and pick up extra side gig jobs. I was a MESS!!
