As an image consultant, your job is to help clients improve their personal branding so they can achieve greater success, both personally and professionally. But did you know that the most powerful tool you have to inspire your clients is yourself? That's right, as an image consultant, you are the brand, and the way you present yourself can have a profound impact on the way your clients perceive and approach their own personal branding.

At 47 years old, I am often mistaken for someone much younger. And while genetics certainly play a role in my youthful appearance, the truth is that I take great care of myself every day. I do a sheet mask for 15 minutes every night, practice yoga daily, and eat a healthy diet. I even weigh myself twice a day to stay on track with my health goals.

And while these habits may seem trivial, they are actually a critical part of my personal branding as an image consultant.

Why is this so important? Simply put, if I want my clients to take their personal branding seriously, I need to show them that I take mine seriously too. By setting an example of what it means to prioritize your personal appearance, health, and wellness, I am inspiring my clients to do the same.

So, what can you do to set an example as an image consultant and inspire your clients to improve their personal branding? Here are a few tips to get you started:

Practice what you preach

As an image consultant, you likely have a set of best practices that you recommend to your clients, such as dressing professionally, maintaining good posture, and keeping your grooming and hygiene up to par.

But it's not enough to simply tell your clients what they should do – you need to show them. Make sure you are practicing what you preach in your own life. Dress professionally, maintain good posture, and take care of your grooming and hygiene.

By embodying the values and habits you recommend to your clients, you are showing them that you truly believe in the importance of personal branding.

Take care of your health and wellness

As I mentioned earlier, taking care of your health and wellness is a critical part of personal branding. Not only does it make you look and feel better, but it also demonstrates to your clients that you prioritize your well-being.

Whether it's practicing yoga, going for a run, or simply eating a healthy diet, make sure you are taking care of your physical and mental health every day. And share your tips and tricks with your clients – they will appreciate the guidance and inspiration.

Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices

As an image consultant, it's important to stay on top of the latest trends and best practices in the industry. But it's not enough to simply read about these trends – you need to put them into practice in your own life.

Whether it's trying out a new makeup trend or incorporating a new fashion style into your wardrobe, make sure you are constantly pushing yourself to stay ahead of the curve. By doing so, you will inspire your clients to do the same.

Be open and honest with your clients

Finally, it's important to be open and honest with your clients about your own personal branding journey. Share your successes and challenges with them, and be transparent about the work you are doing to improve your own personal branding.

By doing so, you will create a sense of authenticity and vulnerability that will help your clients trust and connect with you on a deeper level.

In the end, being an image consultant is about more than just helping your clients look good – it's about empowering them to be their best selves. And by setting yourself up as an example of what it means to live a healthy, professional, and successful life, you can inspire and motivate your clients to do the same.

So if you're looking to be a truly effective image consultant, remember to lead by example.
