Life is very mysterious in itself, sometimes it makes you feel like you know everything about it and you have control over the helm of this ship. The very next moment it may become a chamber of secrets where you don't even know which key will open this chamber and what is even inside the chamber? It can make you feel like a master at some point and like a slave at some other. Overall it can be taken as an unpredictable ride with lots of twists and turns where you enjoy some of them but may hate the other ones. It poses challenges from time to time and those challenges are for nothing but to test your capabilities and spirit of survival in rough times.

Sometimes in life, when hard times come, it tosses a coin where you have to select between choices given to you but there is no guarantee that this coin has only two sides; in fact a lot of times there are multiple of choices where you have to select the right one for you and that phase my friend, is not easy. There is a common scenario for a lot of people [because I don't want to feel like a special case :)] where they are given to choose between responsibilities and goals they have and that is one of the most difficult tests that life takes because you cannot run away from this inevitable test like other ones.

One of the things that matters the most is your goals in life and for most of us; they are not easy to attain and that is why you plan a roadmap to get there considering your abilities, circumstances and opportunities. You do the required work which is under your control to achieve it but there is another factor that is not under control but plays a crucial part in your journey to desired goals and that is 'luck' or 'chance'. It may vary for different persons but it is in the picture for sure as some people say it is very important along with hard work and some speak the other way around. I believe that luck exists and it also plays an important role.

In a world where luck is so important, it is not easy to always get along with your goals causing a ton of self doubt issues. Now, let's make it more difficult by adding up responsibilities you have towards your family. They make it hard to follow your heart and chase your goals because of uncertainty in results. You can be responsible for different things in your own world. Some have responsibilities towards their parents, for some it is their siblings or spouses whether for some it may be towards their children or even pets.

Choosing between your goals and responsibilities gets tough because one shapes your future and other shapes the future of your loved ones. Most of the time you don't want to risk the future of your loved ones in greed of your desired future and that is when you compromise with your goals. No matter how hard you are trying to get to your goals, that fear of uncertain results takes you, no matter whether you are a firm believer of Stoicism or that 'Karma and Fal (fruit)' Shloka in Geeta. And that is why choosing between your goals and responsibilities is a hard task.

I feel this phase of my life is going through the same. I am not here to tell any solution to this. These aforementioned thoughts are just to remind you that if it happens to you, just remember you are not the only one, a lot of us go through the same challenge of choice at least once throughout our life. All I can suggest is don't make any quick decisions and sit back for some time and think about it. I am doing the same writing this article and I hope I will get a firm and justifiable solution to this. And if I get one, I will post that for sure, till then you can suggest to me in comments what you did if you got through the same.
