How to Get Better Conversion Rates For Your Email Campaigns

So You Can Make More Money

"Success is not final; failure is not fatal: It is the courage to continue that counts."

Today I'm going to teach you my way to optimize an email campaign to get more sales.

Usually when we talk about optimizing an email campaign for sales, we talk about making a sales page convert better with more persuasive copy or other things. We talk about starting with a page that converts at 3% and then optimising after that benchmark is established.

Next we're going to split-test the headline. Then we're going to split-test the offer. After that we're going to split-test the pricing. So basically, we're going to split test these various different pieces.

Our main goal is to get the conversions to get higher and higher. That's an great way to raise conversion rates and get more sales...

Now although we can go that route, I want to give you an different method. To think of it, perhaps different is not the right word. So here's an additional method. Something that you can do in addition to optimizing your sales page.

What this will do is make your conversion rate of your entire email campaign skyrocket.

Let me explain: Just suppose that you have 100 new subscribers come in.

Hopefully you're generating 1k, 2k, or even 5k subscribers a month. Now, let's just say we work with a just 100 people. 100 new come into your email campaign.

Now, there's a few number of ways that we can see your business. We can look at the conversion rate of your sales page and say that it's converting at 4%. And maybe 50 of your subscribers view it at some point. Now 4% of them buy, so you make 2 sales.

Now it's pretty simple for us to see this and say "That's a 4% conversion rate."

You'd be right, 4% of those people actually view it.

However, if you think about it, that's really just a 2% conversion rate from your subscribers.

Theoretically we could spend a ton of time increasing things from 4% to 8%. But if we're still driving the same 50 people to that website, we're essentially going to double sales. Instead of the 2 people buying we would have 4 people buying and now it has gone from 4% to 8%.

Now, just suppose if we were to do something else.

Suppose that if instead of getting just 50 views from the same 100 subscribers, we could get 100 views. ..

Imagine if we could discover a way to get twice as many of our subscribers to view it, what would happen then to our sales?

Now they would double, not by improving the conversion rate on our sales page, but doubling on the fact that twice as many people are viewing the page. Now we have 100 subscribers, 100 people view the sales page at 4%, so now we get 4 sales out of 100 without changing the sales page.

Now obviously, if we change the sales page to increase the conversions to 8%, and we get 100 people to view the sales page, what happens? Well, Cha-ching! Now we're going to get 8 sales!

In both scenarios, we initially raised the sales from 2% of subscribers to 4% of subscribers. And as we have combined them we now quadruple sales from just 2% of subscribers to 8% of subscribers converting. How about that?
