How Sculptures Bring Your Landscape To Life

Do you ever look around your street and wonder if something is missing? No, we're not talking about a built-in pool or an outdoor kitchen (though you know who to call if that's what you're looking for). You may believe that all you need is more flowers, trees or lights, but what you're probably missing is an artistic touch.

Few realise how much a statue creation can tie everything together, but those who do add that personal touch to their landscape understand the value. Here are three reasons why we both agree:

1. Beauty and personality

Let's get the most obvious reason out of the way first: they're visually appealing. Whether large or small, colourful or bronze, there's something about a beautiful work of art that transports you to another era, a movie, or even a different state of mind. A sculpture in your street can provide not only that feeling, but also contrast, harmony, and a whimsical feel to the atmosphere of your landscape.

While your street may already feel like it belongs to you, sculptures can add a level of personality and style that few other items can. Their individuality aids in the expression of your interests, feelings, dreams, and fantasies. Art can be interpreted in a variety of ways because each piece contains so much meaning. A butterfly sculpture may appear to some as a representation of your love for them, but it represents transformation and hope to you. Passers-by may think a bird sculpture is there because you like birds, but it is actually a memorial to a loved one.

Street statues allow you to express not only your style, but also your beliefs, values, and outlook on life. There are pieces to suit every personality, whether you prefer classical and modern or contemporary and abstract. Choose a sculpture that you believe in because it will become a reflection of who you are.

2. Contrast and balance

Stepping outside your back door can sometimes feel like you've entered a foreign land that doesn't feel like home. Why don't we add art to our exteriors like we do to our interiors? Incorporating art into your landscape creates an extension of your home, establishing a connection and natural flow from inside to outside.

While it may appear that placing a sculpture in your street is out of place, it is actually quite the opposite. The textural and visual contrast between natural elements and the materials used in the sculpture allows for the perfect juxtaposition of nature and architecture. A sculpture, like plants, flowers, and trees, provides balance by bringing different forms of colours, shapes, and heights together.

However, it is critical to do it correctly. The placement of a sculpture in your street is as important as the sculpture itself. If you place it dead centre in the middle of your street, it will appear awkward and random. What's the point if it can only be seen by standing in the neighbor's yard? Use sculpture to draw attention to the things you want to be seen, such as the lovely garden you've worked on for hours. Nestling it among the foliage or flower beds is a great way to show off your garden without detracting from the beauty (and hard work) you've put into it.

While it may appear contradictory, placing the sculpture further away can be beneficial. This will serve as a focal point for the viewer, drawing their attention to your favourite part of the landscape. The viewer will notice the smaller details as they get closer to the sculpture, and we all know how important those are.

3. Seasonal and low maintenance

The lack of maintenance required is one of the most appealing aspects of a street statue. We understand that there is already a lot of manual labour that needs to be done every day to keep your landscape looking clean, beautiful, and, most importantly, alive. Gardening, watering, trimming, sweeping, and raking... the list goes on and on.

A street statue is ideal if you only want one thing in your street that does not require weeding. Your statue design will be the most consistent element in your landscape because it requires no major maintenance. If you want to keep it absolutely pristine, we recommend a light dusting and rinsing with soap and water every now and then.
