How does affiliate marketing really make money?

Of course CPA makes money...if done right! You also can't make money if it's done poorly. Most people just go through a link on their FB page… and bam, instant success, right? NO! It's potentially possible to make a lot of money from affiliate marketing, and in fact, it's the closest thing there is to a 'fool-proof' technique for making money online.

All you have to do is find a product that is already selling really well, mimic the techniques others were using to sell it, and start selling it yourself. If it worked for them, there's absolutely no reason why it shouldn't work for you too! So if you're trying to sell a product and you're not getting buyers, it can be very frustrating. What are you doing wrong? How can you fix the flaw in your plan?

A common way to immediately increase your sales overnight is to find a route to market. Here, we'll look at what it is and why it's often the magic ingredient in the affiliate marketing formula. A route to market is essentially a method of accessing a specific demographic or audience that you are trying to sell to.

So if you have an eBook on knitting patterns, chances are that that demographic is old ladies, and more specifically, old ladies who like to knit. If you can find a route to that market – a way to communicate directly with them – you can make a lot of money with affiliate marketing.

So, in this old ladies example, how do you find a route to market that works? The simple question to ask yourself is where do these people spend their time – both online and in the real world.

Online you can have some destinations. Maybe there's a forum somewhere where people discuss knitting? Maybe there's a website aimed squarely at 'knitting fans'? In the real world, examples might be the bingo club (not to reinforce stereotypes) or perhaps a knitting magazine.

If you can get your affiliate link into a knitting magazine with a print run of 3,000, imagine how much money that could make you almost overnight. This is the power of finding a route to market and it should be an integral aspect of your plan. In fact, you should identify multiple routes to market before you even select which product you want to sell!

Another tip is to have a very large network with many followers, if you have that in your hands, it will certainly help a lot. No one is going to make money overnight, anyone who promises this is deceiving you.

Affiliate marketing is one of the ways to make money online that really works. It's a good way to monetize your internet traffic or your customer acquisition skills. Depending on the results and the time you are willing to dedicate, affiliate marketing can be a good additional source of income or it can even become your main source of income.

There are several myths and controversies around this subject. Some say anyone can easily earn passive income, while others say you need to work all day to get results in the beginning. In this article, we'll explore what CPA marketing means, how it works, and how you can get started as a CPA marketer.

What is CPA marketing?

CPA stands for Cost Per Action or sometimes Cost Per Acquisition marketing. The model is based on the principle of mediation. On one side is an advertiser who wants to promote their products or services, on the other side are people who need those products and services. Your task is to unite them in exchange for an advertiser's affiliate commission for each targeted action taken. The logic is simple, but in practice you need to take into account several details.

Step by step, the process is as follows:

The seller/vendor creates an affiliate program that spells out the terms, traffic requirements, desired targeted actions, and other technicalities. Affiliate programs can be found on official websites of companies or in affiliate networks.

If you are working with affiliate networks, the process is quite simple: a webmaster or traffic arbitrage specialist finds the campaign in the catalogue. If his traffic sources meet the requirements, he receives a special affiliate link. This link is used in promotions – the affiliate can place it on their website, on their social media pages or use it in any other authorized traffic source.

When a potential customer clicks on the link, information about the source is stored in cookies. If, during the lifetime of the cookies (specified in the terms and conditions), the visitor completes a targeted action, you earn a commission.

Hope this helps.. I wish you every success
