Are you the type of woman who is assertive no matter what the situation is? Always have to have the last word? Who believes that they think they are respected when in reality, you are just feared? Can have no one around for longer than two minutes?

Well then sis, you might have an attitude problem and I have some ways that can help you redirect that energy and use it in a more feminine way because your attitude and approach is probably why most people preserve you as more masculine and not feminine.

The first step is your color choices when it comes to your clothes. Colors definitely affect how we feel, red is powerful and purple is royal. Try choosing a calmer color, it will give off a different energy before you even open up your mouth.

A calmer morning routine can change your mood during your work day and peer interactions. Don’t rush in the morning, take time to meditate or pray, use your morning a little selfcare period before all your hard work begins. It can honestly change your energy.

Walking away from situations is a lifesaver. If you feel like a problem is getting out of hand and you are getting too worked up, it’s not getting fixed at that moment, you're not feeling heard, or your blood is just boiling at this point. There is no harm in saying, “I need a moment to step back and collect my thoughts and come up with the best solution available. Sometimes clapping back immediately is not the appropriate response, coming back better than everyone is.

Find some calming techniques. This is really easy to do. Because we live in the age of the internet, this is literally at the tip of our fingertips. There are some good ones on youtube that can really help you twitch gears in your mind. Just take the time to try and redirect the energy into something else or just taking a moment to breath first

FInd time for yourself throughout the day. Take yourself out to lunch or go get some self care done in between your day. Buy yourself that morning cup of coffee or that little extra something. Taking that time out can help you re-evaluate and help you realize who you are throughout the day, and that might help you get through the day. Do not just wait until the end of the day to put yourself first, you can do it during your workday. Self care in the workday is very instrumental to your mental health and your productivity.

Ignoring negativity and ill workday comments. Yes, do not let me walk over you and sometimes you do have to read people. But if the comment was not to your face or is a “he said she said” situation, it is not worth your time nor your responsibility to react to that. DO what you need to do and show out through your work ethic and how you carry yourself in your workspace. Shut it down without saying a word.

Stop working when it's time to stop working. Do not take home with you if it is completely unnecessary to do so. Give yourself that rest time that you deserve. Go home and pour yourself a glass of wine, run a bath, read a book, prepare yourself for the next day. Give yourself a break. No one can run all day everyday without getting burned out. Relax, you so need and deserve it.

These are just some tips that I have to maintain your femininity and your composure through the day while you are at work. Remember femininity is a journey and lifelong, don’t rush it, maintain it.
