If it were you, how long would it take to earn your first $10 million in life?

Xiaoliang, who is now based in Australia, did it in just four years, and he was only 36 years old that year.

Before he became an entrepreneur, Xiao Liang was once a manual worker who worked from 9 to 5.

But after realisrealizinghe could not achieve financial freedom by going to work, he took advantage of a disguised pay cut to leave the glamorous workplace and start his own business.

But it was this road full of thorns that allowed him to achieve financial freedom and discover a life that was truly his own.

Stage 1: [The first million dollars of his life] He kept "touching" opportunities and found the perfect project at the right time

At the end of 2012, Xiaoliang received his green card from Australia with his independent skills.

But at that time he was still working in his original unit in Shenzhen and had no knowledge of starting a business, let alone daring to think about it.

His job was stable, his family was happy and his future was bright.

Who would give up everything to start a business from scratch?

So even though it was the golden age of foreign buying, Xiaoliang didn't think about it at all.

But Xiao Liang wanted to move up the ladder, so he went to the trouble of moving from his home country to the Australian branch.

It was a very remote town on the Australian mainland, with only 7,000 to 8,000 people in the whole town.

Xiaoliang's salary did not live up to his expectations either.

But luckily, the following April, he was reassigned to Perth - the fourth largest city in Australia, with a population of two million people.

It was here that Xiao Liang met a large number of Chinese people and discovered that there were so many ways to earn money.

Soon after, the company made a "strategic" change and wanted Xiaoliang to quit.

Xiao Liang, who had already developed the idea of starting his own business, did not hesitate to take the compensation and leave.

But what was he going to do to start his own business?

After all, it was the first time he started a business, so the costs had to be low and the risks had to be small.

With a wealth of contacts from the past, Xiaoliang and his wife had the opportunity to learn more about many projects, but after careful analysis and decision-making, they found that the buying business in Australia was booming.

And there was no need for a storefront at all, let alone taking risks. All that was needed was to send out a circle of friends.

Although late to the party, Xiaoliang caught the wind.

So Xiaoliang and his wife did a bit of publicity in their circle of friends, and so they easily embarked on a business track of buying for them.

Relying on the unique geographical advantage and the relaxed policy at that time, Xiaoliang earned the first million dollars of his life.

This million, of course, was not as straightforward as we might have thought. The Chinese who were shopping with Xiaoliang at the same time was only earning about five or six hundred Australian dollars a month.

But Xiaoliang kept pushing the envelope when it came to developing her business. For example, developing domestic agents to crack customers, packing for local Chinese university students in Australia to earn the price difference, and so on.

It is clear that those who can make money, even if they are standing in the wind, still rely on their wisdom.

The second stage: down to earth, with what you have to exchange for what you want

After all, it is a windfall project and a very short-lived windfall.

As the demand for proxy shopping grows, the countries and authorities concerned are taking notice of it and are beginning to strictly regulate it.

At the same time, online platforms are becoming more and more sophisticated.

After "buying on behalf of" became a "regular army" business, Xiao Liang knew he had no more chance.

So he set out to find a new project.

With a degree in English translation, Xiaoliang accidentally discovered that English training businesses were in demand both at home and abroad.

So he followed the example of Netflix Ally and made a free English learning exchange community.

This time, of course, he started with his circle of friends.

Every day, he shared English-speaking tips in the community and distributed them to all major platforms.

It took two months of this before Xiao Liang got his first student.

Since then, however, he has had more and more students, and his lesson fees have naturally risen.

Once he had built up a certain scale, Xiaoliang recruited local English teachers from Australia and adapted the training format to suit his needs.

As Xiaoliang's reputation grew in the region, he was unexpectedly offered a contract to write English essays.

This one business alone brought him over RMB300,000 in revenue.

The second phase of Xiaoliang's venture has left us with a lot of inspiration.

To be truly successful in business, it is impossible to rely on the windfall alone for long; your real skills are often more important.

If you have the ability and do your best to tap into relevant user needs, it will be hard to make money if you don't want to.

Stage 3: Use existing resources to create IP and keep fracturing

After the English training business had been underway for some time, Xiaoliang found that it had some fatal flaws.

For example, customers don't buy back and withdraw after learning part of it because they think they know it and don't want to waste that money again. A business with no repeat customers is very tiring to do.

The other most important thing is that customer acquisition costs are getting higher and higher. It takes a lot of energy to keep sharing on the platform and maintaining an active community, and the increasingly fierce competition in the industry is also a headache.

Therefore, after the English training had reached a certain scale, Xiao Liang and his wife Joe started looking for a new project.

In a previous reseller group, Joie met a distributor of a domestic diaper brand.

After surveying the market, Xiaoliang and his wife found that their past customer base as a reseller and this brand's customer base overlapped highly.

Combined with the fact that the brand's products were highly profitable for direct sales by the manufacturer and that there was no need to stock up, the threshold for joining was very low, so the Xiaoliang couple decided to enter the business.

Starting with their copy and pictures, the couple did well with their online shopping, relying on the foundation of their past repo customer base.

They have since developed several agents, leveraging on their previous model of proxy shopping, and have successfully fractured more and more customers.

At this point in the story, five years have passed since Xiaoliang left his job to start his own business, and the couple's entrepreneurial journey is going more and more smoothly.

Today, his annual profits are in the millions and he is driving the Porsche Cayenne he has always dreamed of.

The job is not only stable but also easy. There's plenty of time freedom and even more financial freedom.

This is probably the life that most of us aspire to.

But looking back, Xiaoliang and his wife have had their chances and luck along the way, but more important than that is their ability and accumulation.

Without a foundation in English translation, Xiaoliang would not have been able to make the perfect transition to supporting his life after the windfall of buying had passed.

Nor would he have been able to get on track immediately when starting a new business without the trust and word of mouth he had built up with so many clients from his past ventures.

Just as Xiaoliang himself said: the essence of any business is people, exchanging sincerity for sincerity and heart for heart, which is what makes a long-lasting business.

If you are also in the early stages of starting a business now or preparing to start one, you must bear this in mind.

It doesn't matter if you miss out on the entrepreneurial path, you can't get anything out of it.

Even if you fail, it gives you lessons and experiences that no course or book can give you.
