It’s time for Subhi Najar’s (Medium Writer) latest ‘Deep Dive’ and the questions in this prompt look a little tougher than the last.

For Subhi’s original article, you can read it here :

So let’s dive in!

What does happiness mean to you? Please define it in a word, line, picture, or story.

Happiness to me is my ultimate goal. It means that I am content; at peace with my place in life; loved, appreciated and respected; and most importantly not stressed.

What does love mean to you? Please define it in a word, line, picture, or story.

Love, to me, is that delightful messy emotion that fills your heart until you feel like you’re drowning. It’s the empathy we feel for others; the understanding we try to obtain for others; the bend-over backwards sacrifices we make for those we truly care about; and the giddy emotions of excitement and adoration. Love is everything!

What does writing mean to you? Please define it in a word, line, picture, or story.

Writing is a must do, above all else, desperation. It helps me keep the little bit of sanity I have left; empties my head so I can sleep better at night; is the ultimate processor of my emotions and stressors; and lastly an all out need to let the words flow.

What does beauty mean to you? Please define it in a word, line, picture, or story.

Beauty means so much in so many different ways. From the glorious sunsets and sunrises we are blessed with by Mother Nature, to the perfect sceneries of a rainforest walk or the stark desert sand dunes; it’s the hearts of the kindest people; the preciousness of our smallest humans; the delightful smile on the face of a grateful person; the purring of my much loved kitty cats; and of course the perfect creations of the many talented people in our world.

What does “ impossible” mean to you? Please define it in a word, line, picture, or story.

There is no such thing as impossible! Anything is possible if we are determined to find a way; if we believe enough; trust enough; and follow our dreams.

What does success mean to you? Please define it in a word, line, picture, or story.

Success to me is to attain a state of happiness; peace; love; commitment to oneself; and contentment.

What does “ victory ” mean to you? Please define it in a word, line, picture, or story.

I believe that I have attained ‘victory’ every time I have set myself a goal and fought my way to the fruition of that goal. Doesn’t matter how big or small that goal is, if I have achieved it, I have attained a victory.

What does “perfect day” mean to you? Please define it in a word, line, picture, or story.

The perfect day is one of peace, happiness and usually involves being surrounded by those I love. Although on saying that I can have a perfect day whilst alone, doing the things I love to do.

What does “ failure ” mean to you? Please define it in a word, line, picture, or story.

Unfortunately this is one of my greatest weaknesses as I see failure every time I make a mistake or when I’m needed by those I love and for whatever reason I can’t be there. Failure is my personal bugbear!

What does “life ” mean to you? Please define it in a word, line, picture, or story.

I’m still trying to work out what the meaning of life is but in the meantime, I try to live life to the fullest as much as I can. Life to me is figuring out what I want or need and fighting for those wishes and needs on a daily basis, bypassing the fear and not allowing it to hold me back. Life is to be lived at all costs.

About the Creator

Colleen Millsteed

My first love is poetry — it’s like a desperate need to write, to free up space in my mind, to escape the constant noise in my head. Most of the time the poems write themselves — I’m just the conduit holding the metaphorical pen.

My dear kindred spirit, you are so positive. All my answers to those question were just one word for each and none of them were positive, lol! Keep shining like a butterfly! I know butterflies don't shine, so don't ask me where that came from 🤣

  • Another good "Dive Deeper" edition. I like your answers more than I like my own. Yours are better.
