The National Institute for Occupational Health and Safety (NIOSH) has conducted extensive research about stress in workplaces. Their work includes several management suggestions including Employee Wellness Programs.

Employee Wellness Programs (EWPs)

The good news is that more and more companies are becoming proactive and understanding about their employees wellness. Instead of waiting until workplace stress gets out of control, companies are now practicing Employee Wellness Programs (EWPs).

Check out this video on Worksite Wellness.

As mentioned in the video, some changes that are already being made include:

  • Swapping out unhealthy onsite food and snacks for more healthy ones
  • Encouraging physical activity
  • Designating the workplace as a smoke-free environment

The National Institute for Occupational Healthy & Safety

The National Institute for Occupational Healthy & Safety (NIOSH) believes that the best way to deal with occupational stress is for a company to take the required steps to reduce workplace stress and support its employees.

Extraordinary Workplace Wellness Programs

The best practices of all wellness programs will result in higher morale, increased productivity, and reduced absenteeism. Employees who are not healthy cost their employers in time, decreased productivity, and workplace injuries. Great employers will always look at the stress levels and mental health of their employees.

It would be really awesome if you join the adventure and maybe even help me think of what to write about next. If you would like to submit some feedback or ideas, you can always tweet me on Twitter.

Thank you for reading my article. Would it be okay if I ask another favour though? Would it be okay if you share this on your Facebook page or Twitter? If you can't share, there is a tiny little donate box at the bottom too. No pressure though, just thought I would mention.
