What It's Like To Be
From postal worker to film producer, what is it like to do what you do?
Testing My Patience
It all started with a Facebook post. At least, for me, it did. Out-dated and falsified articles are majority of what gets passed around on social media. So when I came across one mentioning a possible unknown virus coming from Asia, I just kept scrolling. I mean, I’m a lab tech. If there is an outbreak of anything, we will be right in the middle of it. I knew that if it was real, my peers and I would be the first to know seeming as how we would be the ones testing for this so called “coronavirus”.
Kat ElainePublished 4 years ago in JournalStory of Stuntsman to Safety and Built a Business on What He Learned
So, back in 2006, I'm doing about 70 mph on my motorcycle -- while popping a wheelie, with my feet stuck out over the windshield -- when I make a mistake. Bam. One second, I’m doing a stunt for a movie on a Maryland interstate, making money for doing insanely entertaining tricks on one of my two wheels. The next second, I’m roadkill -- still breathing (fortunately) but splattered and sprawled on the highway, with no way to call for help.
Mike BojackPublished 4 years ago in JournalUBER CHRONICLES
UBER CHRONICLES VOL. 1 For those of you that enjoy hearing uber stories or maybe considering becoming an Uber driver. I thought I would share my most memorable rides. After 10,000 rides in 3 years. These stories can give you a pretty good idea of what the job entails. My first 2 years in North Carolina picking up Residents, Tourist, College students, and Vacationers. You may find that some are complicated, funny, interesting, and enjoyable. If you have Great Customer Service, stay prepared for the obvious, and know your area well. These skills will make you more successful. As well, as make the job less complicated. Also be ready to answer the normal questions you usually get during the small talk sessions. When riders first get in the vehicle like: How long have you been a driver?, Do you like being an Uber driver?, What made you strart driving?, What are the requirements and Are you a local or a transplant? If the ride last long enough they are likely to ask you to tell them a funny story. Take note that we can rate them like they can rate us. If you rate them 2 stars or less, you will never get a ride from them ever. If you rate them 3 stars or more, it’s likely you will get them again.

The life of a groom is never an easy one, but for some of us, it's a good option when you want to work in a stable, see some competitions, and maybe have some riding lessons. You work a hard schedule with overwhelming workloads, little money, and enough stress to make you want to die. Here are some helpful things you need to know about working as a groom before you decide to work as a groom in Germany. Although I’m sure these are things that can apply to working as a groom in any country, my experience has primarily been in Germany and bit in America.
Leighton BeckPublished 4 years ago in JournalSERVANTS IN THE EDWARDIAN ERA
Many of us have seen “Upstairs Downstairs,” “Gosford Park” and, more recently, “Downton Abbey,” and do we not ‘wonder’ at how life was back then, in the Edwardian Era. To be a Servant or “In Service” was looked at as a decent job, with a possibility of promotion (after many years), especially if you worked “in the big house.” My own grandmother was a maid in service before getting married, and the photo of her in her maid’ uniform, is quite an heirloom. I remember her trying to teach me ‘Silver Service’ (serving in the dining room) and how ‘strange’ it all seemed to me personally.
