Attempting the Great and Impossible.

Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche said ,

"I know of no better life purpose than to perish in attempting the great and impossible. The fact that something seems impossible shouldn't be a reason to not pursue it, that's exactly what makes it worth pursuing. Where would the courage and greatness be if success was certain and there was no risk ? The only true failure is shrinking away from life's challenges."

The above quote is a very famous quote . This quote contain sound words that motivates and make you realize your true self. Regardless of that most people tend to only pay attention to the first sentence and ignore the rest . The quote speaks about attempting the great and impossible feats . Of which mankind have shown lesser interest to attempt . They insult those who attempt and fail but praise those who attempt and succeed . It so happens they ignore true embodiment of the idea of the first sentence . They fail to see that no one can achieve anything unless they try and fail . As humans we want perfection when we are not perfect, we don't want correction when we are not correct . I am here to give an insight on this quote and deduce it in my own understanding . And this is one of the many quotes I would like to share my ideas and thoughts on with you .

Great and Impossible

A feat is only great because it was impossible . According to the Oxford Dictionary the meaning of great is ,

"of an extent, amount, or intensity considerably above average."

While the meaning of impossible according to the Oxford Dictionary is,

"not able to occur, exist, or be done."

As seen great is something that is considerably above average. And as a human for you to do something that is above average is seen as impossible because it has not been seen to occur .

I would simple put life is boring if you follow the crowd . In the quote above , no better life purpose is mentioned. Which brings me to ask you this question, what is your life purpose ? Most people tend to follow the crowd who then in turn makes choices for them. And in doing so which is against . Again the meaning of purpose as a verb { action} according to the Oxford Dictionary is,

" have as one's intention or objective"

One's intention or objective . Many at times we usually mistake other peoples objectives with our own . It is through this mistake that the crowd uses to carry us along and as a result do not achieve the great that we can . By following the crowd we begin to do average things rather than achieve what is beyond average . While following the crowd we always know the outcome of our lives which I find very boring . It is like watching a movie for the first time and knowing the later outcome . To my knowledge nobody like to know the outcome of the movie from the beginning . The why do we let the same boring movie play in our life ? This crowd are constitute of the poor or average living people who already know how their lives would play out . Being part of the crowd we find it hard to purse our own dreams and goal s. These dreams and goals that seemed impossible becomes great to others if achieved . To effectively do this one must find his own purpose. And that is your life purpose and one worth achieving .

Worthy Of Pursuit

The second line of the quote states that ,

"The fact that something seems impossible shouldn't be a reason to not pursue it, that's exactly what makes it worth pursuing."

We remember the great men of the past centuries . This being because they achieved things that men before and with them did not achieve . The thing they are done are great and impossible although it may have seemed impossible . And as a result of that impossibility that made it worth pursing . What makes worth pursing is up to you . So people may love the journey of doing something different, others may want the fame while others the money . It is the risk involved that makes it worthy of pursuit for few men are willing to take risks . But it is true those risks we are able to deem a great and impossible feat and that is worthy of pursuit .

No Risk

The third sentence is what makes you understand what the great and impossible truly is . It says that ,

"Where would the courage and greatness be if success was certain and there was no risk ? "

A feat is deemed great and impossible when the risk factor is high . It is due to the risk that makes it impossible. And in other to overcome the fear of those risks one must gain courage. For you to gain courage and greatness there must be risks to make you build it. The greatness of a feat is only measure by how risky it was to attempt it . In other to attempt this risk you must have courage . And that is the reason for this question .

Failure

The last sentence is what I find most inevitable in our daily life . Failure, it seek us out as it prey and we hide using the blanket of no risk . We fail when we fail to try. When faced by different life challenges we fail to try to over come them and just run away from them . What we fail to see it that life will never give us a challenge that is not worth our capabilities . Rather than fail and run , fail and learn . That is all there is to it don't shrink away and hide , show yourself accept your failure and work towards your betterment . For in your later days you reflect on what you have done over the years. When you reflect you should hope not to regret . We as humans we are not perfect we have our failures but yet we try to better ourselves . And just so you know there have been and will be greatness created from failure for it is the only path to success . We blame failure but rather it is us that are to blame for the failure . I want to state a quote and it goes like this ,

"To get something you never had you have to do something you never did . And to do something you have never done you must first be come the person who can do it "

Ask yourself this few questions before you attempt anything ;

• Am I someone who can succeed in attempting this ?
• Do I have the right mindset ?
• Do I have the right knowledge ?
• Do I have enough courage to attempt this ?

This may create self doubt . But this is a few question to ask yourself so you can know where you stand . And rather that to let it create self doubt use these questions to better yourself in attempting the great and impossible .

Like everyone out there I want to achieve the great and impossible feats . My whole reason for creating this channel is to serve as a journal on my way to the great and impossible . I am just starting and I know it is going to be a rocky ride . The goal is very far but the dream is so near . I hope this serves as a motivation to others to join me in attempting and achieving the great and impossible .
