FierceScribePublished 2 years ago in InterviewAn Interview With Scott Goodstein About Political Text Messaging
What is the history of text messaging for political purposes? When did it first begin? Scott Goodstein: Text messaging for political campaigns started during Barack Obama’s 2008 campaign. I had the honor as part of my portfolio of work for the campaign experimenting with many new digital platforms. Mobile was the new frontier. We built a program that brought more citizens into politics while disseminating information about ways to early vote, how to find your voting location, and much more. It was awesome to build a system that greatly helped increase civic participation. Unfortunately, a few election cycles later, we must fight to make sure text messaging is not used to add to the chaos, confusion, spreading of misinformation, or adding to the division in our democracy through illegal and nefarious spam.

I started running for my life at 7 a.m. Black water poured out of the alarm clock, and I staggered out of my bedroom as the bed gripped me with a force I could not escape from. Tammy ReesePublished 2 years ago in InterviewThe harsh truth: Recruiters will always choose the individual they like, regardless of qualifications, experience and skills
You probably won't like this, but it's the truth. Recruiters, interviewers, and potential employers will always hire the candidate that they like, even if they don't have qualifications or skills or experience. In fact, interviewers will often pass over a qualified applicant just to hire someone who isn't as good of a fit for the job but is more likable. It's not fair; I know. But it's how it works. Unfortunately, there isn't any way to prove this either because employers can always find some reason that you weren't qualified for the job when really they just didn't like you and thought someone else was better suited for the position. So what should you do about this? Well we'll talk about that next time.
