Rain, Rain Go

Away

Come Back

Another Day!!!!

These little witches

And these little warlocks

Want to go outside and play!!!

Adam and Tabitha were sitting in front of their living room bay window looking at the gloomy rainy day outside.

Adam ate an apple, sitting in a chair next to his older sister who was five years old. Adam was one year younger than his witch sister.

Why did Dad and Mom have to leave us with Grandma Stephens, all she does is sleep all day.

Grandma Stephens was sleeping on a green vintage couch in front of the fireplace, above the fireplace was a flat-screen TV, playing an old episode of Bewitched.

“The news said it’s going to rain all week last night," Tabitha stated sadly while watching the rain outside, with her arms crossed.

Their dad watched the news while they ate dinner together last night. It was supposed to rain all day that day.

“Let’s go watch some TV. I am tired of watching the rain.” Adam told his sister.

They both got off their chair and sat on the two cushions that were near the fireplace.

They were watching an episode of Bewitched where Samatha was with the coven of witches, casting a spell.

"Hey, let's do that! Let's cast a spell to stop the rain so Grandma Stephens can let us play outside." Tabitha suggested.

Adam follows anything his sister tells him to do. They were kind of advanced in thinking because of their family magic powers.

"How are we going to do that? We need a coven to cast such a spell, we are still young and our powers are not yet strong enough," he asked.

"I will call all my friends at the Witches and Warlocks preschool. We will create our own Coven." Samatha explains the plan to him.

Samatha cast a spell to bring all her witches and warlock classmates to appear in their living room.

All her classmates appeared and looked surprised and asked why they were cast to be at her house. She explained to her classmate her plan.

Samatha commanded, " Come little witches and little worlocks, gather around the Cauldron."

The Little witches and little warlocks held hands in front of the cauldron on the fireplace. All eight little witches chanted, " Rain, Rain Go Away! Come Back Another Day!!!! We Little Witches And Little Warlocks Want to go outside and Play."

Grandma Stephens woke up on the seventh chant, she saw little children wearing black clothes in front of the fireplace chanting, the "The Rain Go Away song together. She could not believe her eyes and thought she was dreaming because she was watching Bewitched before she fell asleep.

She closed her eyes and just went back to sleep again.

It stopped raining after the 12th Chant and the kids shouted with glee. Adam and Samatha thanked everyone and cast a spell to send them back home.

They woke their grandmother and asked if they could play outside.

" I can use some fresh air since it stopped raining. I will go outside with you two."

Grandma Stephens brought some snacks from the kitchen to the backyard picnic table. She watched her grandkids play while eating almond nuts.

The kids played in their little backyard green sand turtle box.

"Sister, could I turn this sandbox into a real turtle? It would be fun to have a real turtle to play with," he asked his sister.

"No, Adam, Grandma Stephens would not understand and our parents will have to explain that to her." She told her brother.

It was late in the afternoon and their parent arrived home with some pizza.

The kids were excited to see their parents, they ran out of the sandbox to hug their parents. They all sat at the picnic table to eat the pizza.

" I swear I heard in the news it was going to rain all day." their dad said.

The kids look at each other and smile. Their witch mom looked at the kids suspiciously.

Grandma Stephens told them about her dream of little children gathered around the fireplace singing," Rain Go Away Song". Both parents stare at each other wondering what their little witch and warlock did.

Cute! I love it. There are so many times (although I'm not a witch) when I wish I could control the weather. I'm also, always fascinated by stories about witches (not the horror stories but the fun stories). Please write more.

This was such a cute little story, Mariann. It makes me think of what Hogwarts or Ilvermorny would be like if they had preschool classes. I do wonder if all the little children grabbed a cauldron from the grandma's house somewhere or if they summoned the cauldron themselves. I do hope that they won't cast any dark magic on one another without knowing what could potentially happen. I remember when I would play tag with my siblings all the time and there was a spot where we could stay safe, and the tagger would try to get us both off of the safe spot by casting dark magic. You know, the Apple tree rhyme. "1, 2, 3, get off my Father's apple tree."
