I apologize for calling you a greedy, money hungry, evil witch. I was drunk.
Although over the years you helped me with getting my car fixed, you got me free drinks at the bar, and I moved in with you even when you said you did not want me to. I invited me and my son over that night anyway and stayed for months without helping you.
It was my birthday!
Even though you had been out of work for a few years, and I knew I would have to pay for your drinks all night… It was my birthday!
Why should I have to pay!
And yes you had some guys buy both of us a few drinks not just you, even though I can’t remember that night clearly.
And yes I drink way more than you, but your drinks cost more.
I apologize for getting so drunk I was picking fights with random strangers and told you to F-Off!
I apologize for getting kicked out of the bar, but it was My Birthday!
I also apologize for saying you messed with a guy I liked years ago, who unfortunately is no longer with us.
I sometimes make up things in my head.
I tend to get a little emotional when I drink.
I know over the years I have let my emotions get the best of me.
I have used my shoe as a weapon, and I even sat on you one time when you took my keys from me because you didn’t want me drinking and driving.
I know I am your older sibling and really I should watch out for you, but deep down, I don’t want to. And we are only half siblings after all.
I hold hurt from my past, something that has nothing to do with you, but I still have ill will towards you. As if it was your fault.
Yes, to a normal person this doesn’t seem right, but I never said I was normal.
We both know from my past that I am unstable.
I cried at the bar on your birthday because although you asked me if I wanted a drink, and I said no. You still went to the bar to get one, and left me dancing on the dance floor.
Then when I finally came to find you, after you got your drink you returned to the dance floor.
Later that night on your birthday you should have comforted me sooner. You should have let me get into a fight with a random stranger.
Just because you are my little sister, does not mean that I have to treat you with respect.
I apologize for being rude, and always putting myself first, but hey it’s me.
And because you have a big heart, you got to love me.
So I apologize for all the years I chose others over you. I apologize for continuing to only think of myself.
But we both know how I am, and we both know that is never going to change.
So you will have to just live with it. What else could you possibly do? We are family.
And although you have been there for me over the years. Have you looked in a mirror?
Really the only one you could possibly blame is really yourself.
Cause you let me treat you like this.
I mean the first 35 years sure we got along pretty good.
But since, well not so much.
I’m sure part of that could be on me, but then again probably not.
Like I stated before this is an apology! Just don’t expect me to say I’m Sorry, or Truly Mean It.
Afterall, it’s me!
