Grimm Academy

Gather round and grab a script. The network loved seeing the Angels of Deaths throughout the ten year run of the show, now that it’s ending they want us to write a comedy focused only on the A. O.D.’s. This is my idea for a pilot episode.

Opening Titles

Fast paced. Stylized. Tight.

INT. UNDERGROUND TRAIN STATION -LATE NIGHT

A young man in his twenties dressed in all black is running after a balding man in his eighties who is jumping over rails and benches to escape him. The young man pulls out a knife and spins it until it becomes a scythe. The balding man grabs a young woman pushes her toward the Grim Reaper making his escape and ending her life.

Fade to:

Fade In:

Title Card: Grimm Academy — “So I’m Dead Now?” Pilot

Hollywood, California camera shows of city views

FADE IN:

1. INT.GRIMM ACADEMY—MORNING CALEB (an overstressed angel who would rather deal with guiding souls through the pearly gates than train grim reapers) is arguing with his younger brother RYU ( the rebel of the Dinah family who enjoys being topside on earth and has no problem going after escape souls.) over DASHA (the newest grimm reaper to the academy)

CALEB

You killed someone who wasn’t on the list. Do you know the chaos that’s causing?

RYU

She’s here now. I needed a new partner anyway

CALEB

She isn’t supposed to be here at all. Look at that bright aura e was headed through the gate. No reaper duties. She led a good life. No lesson needed.

DASHA

Excuse me but am I dead?

RYU

Oh yeah, my bad

DASHA

SO, I’m dead? Like really dead? Is this hell? It has to be if I have to be in high school again.

RYU

Hell? No, you don’t know and have never known hell.

DASHA sinks farther into her seat as horns start to poke out of RYU’s head

CALEB

Ryu, don’t scare her. Welcome to Grimm Academy Dasha Williams. The training grounds for angels of deaths. That’s what you are now. Of course we’ll try to get you where you belong but in the mean time you’ll have to learn how to reap souls.

DASHA

Where I’m supposed to be?

RYU

You know that doesn’t matter. What does is you and I are now partners. We can be a buddy cop duo. Humans love that dynamic.

DASHA looks uncertain

Fade out:

BLACK

FADE In: Montage of DASHA in training learning how to use her scythe it ends up out of her hands, stuck in walls, and cutting people’s heads off more than in her hands. DASHA let’s demons go when they give her sob stories about not wanting to return to hell and living good lives among humans.

RYU spots DASHA in the graveyard hugging a sobbing vampire that she lets go.

Ryu

He’s going to kill people when he feeds you know? You should have sent him back to hell.

DASHA

Needing blood to survive isn’t his fault. He was born that way. Just because they were born there doesn’t mean they should have to stay there. Hell has become a prison for humans. Why should perfectly nice demons have to remain in a prison?

RYU

What kind of a Grimm Reaper doesn’t reap souls?

DASHA

I do. Those that deserve it will be sent back.

RYU

Who? So far you haven’t sent anyone back. Our quota is all out of whack. Caleb’s been so upset his halo has been crooked all week.

DASHA

When we run into someone evil

RYU

They’re from hell
