EPISODE 2

Angel didn't really know where to go, or who to call for her mother's dead body. She was still very young and barely knows any of her relatives apart from uncle Chidi who's number hasn't been going through.

The nurses advised her to go home and come back the next day. But her tears couldn't seize, the thought of staying without her mother made her cry the more.

Angel's mother's dead body was carried into the mortuary, it all seemed like a very bad dream to Angel. Her life has been put to a stop, where will she go from that point!!!

No friend of her mum could be of help to her,

None of her mum's relatives were available.

She doesn't even know her Dad..

She was all alone in this world.

Angel ran to the church and asked for help so that her mum can be buried, but no one was interested in helping her because her mother was not in any group in the church.

Some even gossiped that Chidimma was wayward and a single mother and they will not participate in anything concerning her. Angel's heart got pierced , she never knew this world was this wicked.

Oh if only her mother was still alive, why did God allow the evil hands of death to take the only person in the world who loves her as tears started flowing from her cheeks once more.

It was only a small group of church members that supported and made sure Angel's mum was buried in the cemetery.

Angel went back home, it was now her responsibility to take care of herself and this burden came to her unawares and she wasn't prepared for this arduous journey. If only her mum can come and direct her path.

Angel took the little money she found in her mum's room and bought oranges and Bananas and started hawking around in order to feed. It was barely a week since she started looking after herself.

Then there was a knock on the door the evening she just came back from her daily sales..

Angel went to get the door and it was her landlord.

Angel : Good evening sir

Landlord: There is nothing good about the evening Angel, your mother didn't tell you that she hasn't paid for three months rent?

Angel : But my mum doesn't owe rents sir, it's not even up to two weeks my mum died and you're already here for rent Angel said as tears dropped down from her cheeks.

Landlord: what's the proof that she paid? Do you have any?

Angel : ( still crying)

Landlord: (comes closer to Angel and tries touching her) but we can come to an agreement.

Angel: (pushes his hands off) Sir leave me alone, you're old enough to be my father.

Landlord: As if you know your father. Better find a way and pack your things out of my house else you won't like what I will do to you... BÂSTÃRD daughter of a prôstitüte mother!!!

And he walks away.

Angel sat still crying. Where will she go from here? Why do everyone keep insulting her mother. Was any of these her fault. The more she thought about life, the more tears flowed down her cheeks.She is managing to feed herself now he wants to render her homeless.

It was now that Angel fathomed the hurdles in this world. School was automatically over for her. Angel went to a member of her mother's church and asked him to help her out, even if it means being a servant to him.

The man was so kind, he is married with two kids. So he took Angel in and gave her shelter promising her that he will enroll her into school when a new term starts.

Angel was happy that God has given her shelter. She thanked Mr and Mrs Ikenna for their kind gestures towards her. Angel tried her best to pay Mr Ikenna back for his kind gesture towards her by doing what ever needs to been done at home. At least he was different from all other men who just want to have cârnäl knowledge of her.

Thanks to her mother who thought her how to cook and do other domestic chores. She made sure she earned her stay.

Two weeks passed and things kept going on smoothly in Mr Ikenna's home till that faithful day. Mrs Ikenna travelled to the village with her kids leaving Mr Ikenna alone with Angel.

The time was 9:45pm and Angel wasn't yet asleep she was reading a book she found in the house. She was a brilliant girl and always finds time to get on with books.

Mr Ikenna knocked on her door, she opened and he told her he wants to speak to her.

She allowed him in, Mr Ikenna told her he was going to send her to a very big school. And he will train her till the university level.

Angel was so happy tears rolled down her cheeks as she was thanking him. It's okay Angel, you know you are a beautiful girl. I'll do all these things I promised, if only you let me in...

Angel was still trying to comprehend what Mr Ikenna was saying then he moved closer to her and started touching her..
