Just taking a trip down the memory lane. Some things have a time associated therewith, and they seem only appropriate when we are young.
Guy 1
[This was back when we still used MSN. We were chatting on MSN for a while. One day he said, "why don't you come meet me? I am playing basketball with friends later." I was excited but also wasn't sure what to expect. Do we hug? Will he stink? What should I wear? A dress would seem out of place, and a skirt would make it difficult for me to sit on the stairs.]
It was an outdoor basketball court. It was crowded. There were a lot of groups playing, and I am really bad with faces, especially when everyone was moving. I felt a bit confused, and he was not responding to my texts -- rightfully, since he wouldn't be checking his phone when running. I finally stopped and sat down on the stairs. I was texting my friend for advice. My friend and I decided that I would wait for 15 more minutes before I went home. 15 minutes past, he still hadn't responded. I started to walk out of the basketball court.
Just when I was waving to a taxi, I heard, "want an ice cream?" I looked in the direction of the sound -- of course it was him. He had changed into jeans and had two ice cream cones, one in each hand. "Sorry, when I got your message, I thought I'd clean up, and then I thought I would get you something." He said, when handing me a cone. "Why didn't you text me back?" I asked. "Oh did you text me? My hands are full so I didn't get to check my phone." He looked down and grabbed his phone from his pocket. "I thought it would be a short run, since there is usually an ice cream truck here, but I guess today they decided to take a break or something. So I had to run for three blocks, and there was a line..." Before he even finished, I wiped the sweats on his forehead. He looked at me, with a little shock and with a big smile. His teeth were so white and tidy.
Guy 2
[We matched on Tinder, and a couple of hours later, we decided to meet.]
He texted me that he was here. I went downstairs, trying to make out an image of him from what I could remember from the pictures so as to spot him. He apparently was better at it than I was. I finally saw a figure from afar picking up his pace and walking right towards me - it must be him. I then walked towards that direction. When we met, he picked me up and put me up in the air, which I totally did not expect. I might have made a sound. We laughed. I buried my head in his chests. People in the street smiled and gave us one of those looks when they see young love. That was the perfect first sight.
Guy 3
I got in his car. He just couldn't stop smiling, to say the least. The corners of his mouth just wouldn't come down even when he talked. I knew right then he liked me. We grabbed food and ate in the car (due to social distance, this was back in July 2020), making silly jokes about people next to us. He said he bet his son would look like the cute little boy in the car next to us -- just chubby and had no clue of life. At the end, just before I got off the car, he turned to kiss me. I asked him how long he had been thinking to do that. He had a shy look -- he looked down, still with that smile, "it's been a while now."
