While the eyes of the whole world are directed towards Ukraine, preoccupied with following the Russian invasion moment by moment, people in Egypt sometimes get distracted by those who beat his wife and his justifications, reflecting a certain social and class culture, then followed by a well-known media skepticism with a heavy presence on the story of the Ascension, and becomes (or perhaps It became a long time ago) that is what is referred to as “the public affair.” Assem Afifi Abdel-Maboud, who works in the installation department at Universal, committed suicide due to the accumulation of debts on him, and his inability to pay in front of his creditors, in light of the company’s intransigence in paying dues workers, despite repeated claims.

He found no other way in the face of helplessness, helplessness, oppression, and humiliation, which crush them all; I am not here to put words on his tongue, some of them came literally in the text of the message he left before he ended his existence in this unjust world, which did not show mercy to him after he apologized to people and asked for forgiveness.

People look away, towards Ukraine, which the vast majority have not set foot in their lives (and most likely will not), and are distracted by ideological issues, of which many do not have deep knowledge or access to, while they turn away from what directly affects and resembles them, in form, background and social circumstance. In want, distress, and debt, he puts his effort into it, and what wastes him of dignity, in the obstruction of the horizon. Perhaps there is a good reason behind this, perhaps that "public affair", which does not affect the common people, is much less expensive, but it is precisely that. With his passing, Assem Afifi reminded me of Sarah Hijazi’s suicide in her diaspora, and many others who take their lives or commit heinous crimes whose victims are often their families, venting their enormous anger, expressing their despair and powerlessness, being torn and torn apart. The significance of this is as terrifying as it is hideous, as it turns out that the vast majority (and the working class in particular) are stuck in a groove, in front of them is a system that adopts and serves an exploitative, primitive social bias to the fullest extent, does not know or recognize any rights or guarantees, and undermines all mechanisms of negotiation and bargaining Peaceful, if only to improve working conditions, in light of exploitation, which is a huge and bloated regime armed to the teeth, ready and ready, even waiting for the opportunity, to crush any sign of organized opposition, and it will not refrain from using the utmost brutality, “brute force,” as Sisi described it as brute force, against the slightest manifestations of protest; Behind it is nothing, annihilation, brutality, or nothingness, either by the decree of God or by choice and flight by ending existence, especially in the absence of any real organization on earth, which they resort to and they strengthen each other. It is impossible to find the words to express the pain and bitterness of this terrible existential predicament, where individuals feel that the collision with the state is so useless, destructive and terrifying, that it leads to agony and slow death in prisons overcrowded and rotten, so that the end of their existence appears more merciful Options and the least torment and pain. This is the human condition and the situation in the “Sisi era,” the era of the restoration of the regime and the resurrection of its violence, which was the blood of human sacrifices, and it is the condition that confronts us and under which most of us live.

Asim Afifi ended his life, but people are distracted by Ukraine and football and quarrels do not address their reality of pension and therefore do not solve anything, and for the most part do not advance or delay, and soon the capital and non-Asim will be forgotten, and others will follow him, we do not care about small stories or small dreams And we do not pay attention to its painful reality, that it represents us all in a certain space, and that we can simply identify with it, that we are all candidates for this fate to catch up with us and to enter the grinder of this infernal machine.

I am not bidding on them in any way; I think that it is high time for them, and it has been clear from the bright evidence that the system will not give them more than allowing an apartment to congregate and gossip, and even this in turn is not guaranteed, to face their reality. Out of concern for the interest of the system, its stability, and the establishment of security, or they preserve some dignity, and then they remain silent or choose a solution, or they leave themselves to self-dissolution and self-fading, indebted to that system by confiscating all spaces.

Unfortunately, what I wrote will not bring Asim back to life, and all I hope is for the human bleeding and societal rupture to stop. In my grief, I hope that Asim will finally enjoy some peace, calm, serenity, and peace of mind, which he deviated from, so he forbade her in life. The system is what it is, and we get rid of any illusions that it can be reformed from within by begging and begging.
