Will Twitter Become a Battlefield Now That Elon Musk Is the New Leader?

Take off your hate mask before you decide to speak freely.

Tesla and SpaceX billionaire Elon Musk has just officially purchased Twitter for $44 billion. His main plan is simple, transform it into a freedom of speech platform. Where every individual gets the free opportunity to speak their mind.

Musk goes on to say,

"Free speech is the bedrock of a functioning democracy, and Twitter is the digital town square where matters vital to the future of humanity are debated," he said. "I also want to make Twitter better than ever by enhancing the product with new features, making the algorithms open source to increase trust, defeating the spam bots, and authenticating all humans."

Granted, Musk hasn't really mentioned this rule in depth, and how exactly it will go about in the Twitter world, but if it is anything like other sites who chose to give the users their freedom of speech, then I think we all know that it isn't going to be a, "win win" situation. Someone always loses out on something, whether it be Twitter users for Musk or certain abilities on the app for the users.

There's always a fine print.

And I think the huge elephant in the room is whether or not Donald Trump will be able to return. Despite the fact that Trump claims to not return to Twitter because he plans to focus on his very own social media site, the ultimate answer to that is Musk's decision. I think we all know that if he lifts his ban it will be the start to many other Twitter wars.

Freedom of speech is such a bitter sweet deal. It feels good to speak your mind. It feels almost rewarding to get positive feedback in return. Given the opportunity for freedom of speech can certainly raise awareness and even change lives. That is if it is spread positively and received in that very same manner.

The bitter part of it all is those who choose to use freedom of speech in forms of hate and discrimination. Wearing their freedom of speech as a mask that covers the real them - an insensitive hateful jackass. Now how does that spread world peace? Allow me to answer that - it doesn't!

What Elon proposes here is what he thinks will open up the world to better communicate with each other. What he doesn't see is that he has now become the leader of an on going war on the Twitter battlefield that could only lead to harsh encounters and people who think that words won't ultimately do damage.

"Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never break me."

Bullshit.

How about we start to practice world peace. How about we practice kindness. Freedom of speech doesn't have to be the start of wars if we choose to not use it as a low blow and instead use it as insight and help on how to promote change in this evil world. An opinion and perspective is just that, an opportunity to speak your mind, it isn't so much what you say, but how you word it.

Learn how to be adult humans and, "talk your shit" in a kind tone. We can all learn a thing or two from one another just as long as we take off the hate masks and listen. We have to try and remain positive at all times, at the end of the day it is how you approach the situation will determine the outcome. Positive attracts positive, and I think we all know how much smoother any altercation is when you have a positive attitude.

Spread love not hate, that's what will make the world go round.
