Nigerian musician Iyanya is opening up in a new interview with The Beat 99.9 FM about why the girl he was seeing around the time of the Yvonne Nelson book saga dumped him, and why he finds it very difficult to settle down even though he has been wanting to do it for a very long time now. Here is what Iyanya had to say about the whole thing.

Iyanya during interview

During the interview, Iyanya was asked "Around that time when that debacle with Yvonne Nelson happened, you came out to say that you were seeing somebody. That person, is she still in the picture?" to which he responded:

IYANYA: No, the person left na. Would you stay? That's the price I pay for being me. Do you know how many nice babes I've met? Once you mention my name, it's either the sister or the cousin or somebody will say "that guy that broke this person's heart", "that one that did that". I'm single now like this, not because I enjoy being single, but because just being me comes with a lot of madness. You see somebody, you see a pretty girl, you're trying to get into a serious relationship with her. Once you pull up, the family goes "you?", "Oh these musicians." So I'm taking my time, I'm taking my time. And like I always say, even when I do, I'm not gonna tell you guys.

"Are you ready though, to get into something serious? To be a husband, and a father?"

IYANYA: I've been ready long time ago. I've been ready. Are you kidding me?

Being a celebrity affects my personal life, it becomes before anything. I don't have any option but to roll with it. When you tell someone you're the only one, they're gonna say "it's a lie. How is it possible for you to have only me?" How do I change that?
