Nigerian actress Omotunde Adebowale-David most popularly known as Lolo1 or by her character name Adaku which she played on the highly popular TV programme, Jenifa's Diary, is opening up now humorously about why she's deciding to become a boxer.

Lolo made the revelation during her show Jasiri on the News Central TV network to the surprise and humor of her co-hosts. However, in making the revelation and gesture, Lolo also used the opportunity to touch on some things and personal experiences she's currently facing in her life and in the midst of the country's current wahalas. Here's what Lolo had to say.

Speaking about why she's training to be a boxer, Lolo said:

LOLO 1: Did you catch the celebrity boxing match between Laide Bakare and Chizzy Alichi? Well, now here I am. Because of Nigeria, I have to always be guided. Nigeria and her wahala - I'm always guided. Do you want to challenge me? [laughs]

But you know Nigerians, honestly, we know how to find humor in the midst of things. Because trust me, things are really really awry for a lot of people. A friend of mine sent me a text yesterday and I couldn't respond cuz I couldn't help. He's a very hardworking real estate person. He just got married like two years ago, and I know him because he's very hardworking. If I read out the text, it's overwhelming and I cannot even help. And that is someone who is hardworking, who is not a lay-about. But he can hardly make ends meet. I saw an online vendor yesterday who said "I might be going out of business, I lost 2.6 million in Forex just yesterday". It's not easy selling things like high commodity or luxury items. It's really hard for people that are buying and selling right now.

Many Nigerians may not be walking around with a boxing glove, but they're walking around with a boxing spirit.
