Speaking on how and why he's lost so much weight, Doyin Okupe said:

DOYIN OKUPE: The first problem was the cancer that I had. Then, the treatment itself. I'm in chemotherapy, so you lose appetite. You have nausea. And if that is sustained for several months, you're going to lose weight. So, in my case, when I started chemotherapy, I was 127kg and then I came down to 97kg, so I lost about 30kg. And then the chemotherapy ended, and then as it was I went back to 103kg. Then, of recent, I went on a fluid fast. I wasn't eating any food at all. No food, except for carrot juice with some nutrients, plants, and all that for 30 days. And I lost an additional 10kg. Today I'm between 92 and 93kg. So I've lost a total of 34kg in a span of six, seven months.

I love food, I love eating. But, now I regulate what I eat. And whenever I eat, I eat in moderation. Portion. Not like before. And I don't crave anymore. I don't crave for food anymore. I'm just grateful to God for that. And because I see typical benefits, it's difficult for me to go back to my old ways. My hypertension has gone. My diabetes is under very serious control. My sleep apnea has disappeared. My fatty liver, you can't find it anywhere. So, it's helping me recover so I can't leave all that and just go back. I'm not going to go back by the grace of God.
