These pictures are insane!

Do you ever just scroll through Instagram or Twitter or Facebook and get stunned by a picture? Like maybe you scroll past something and you’re like, “Wait oh! What was that?”

That’s exactly how I felt when I saw the pictures I saw yesterday on social media.

There are more pictures and I’ll show you later in the post, but I remember seeing them and thinking, “Wow! What would make a person end up this way? Eyaaa, and this mad man is smiling in these pictures oh. Chai. See how young he even looks only to end up mad in the streets. Oh no.”

I’m sure looking at the pictures, if you hadn’t read the headline of this post, you too would have thought those things.

Until I found out not too long after that the man in these pictures is actually not mad at all. In fact, not only is he not mad, he is actually currently enrolled in school: Federal Polytechnic Oko.

So what drove an intelligent polytechnic student to the streets of Nigeria dressed in a mad person’s outfit? Well, here’s what!

Onyeka Crecentz

When pictures of this young mad man started going viral, the man in the pictures whose name is actually Onyeka and goes by Onyeka Crecentz on Facebook came out to clarify that he is in fact not a mad man and that he is an undergraduate student of the Federal Polytechnic Oko.

He explained that from the 1st to the 6th of March, 2021, it was Students Week 2021 in Federal Polytechnic Oko and that the 5th of March when he dressed up the way he did was ‘Rag Day’ for the school.

For those who don’t know, Rag Day is a tradition in almost every higher institution of learning in Nigeria where students are allowed to dress up in any which way they want – preferably in absurd, horrible, unpleasant wears i.e. ‘rags’ hence Rag Day. The primary purpose behind the Rag Day is to gather up money which is then used to assist the less-privileged people in the community especially those with actual mental or physical challenges.

It was because of this Rag Day that Onyeka dressed up in the way he did. According to him, this is his fourth and final Rag Day in Federal Polytechnic Oko so he decided to go all out with the look this time around.

I must say, he really outdid himself this time with this look.

If you’re curious to know what the man underneath the rags looks like, he looks wildly different – unrecognizable in fact. He is a model student of Federal Polytechnic Oko and is a participant in most school activities including playing on the soccer team and volunteering in multiple departments in the school.

I’m sure Onyeka is really going to miss this school when he leaves. He seems to have really made a mark on the school there and seems to have had a lot of fun. This ‘Rag Day’ look was incredible. So so good!

That’s All.
