Why does my husband hate me? You likely feel very alone asking this but surprisingly, many women feel the very same way you do. They reach a point in their marriage where they start to wonder why their spouse dislikes them so. It's understandable why you may be questioning whether or not your marriage has any chance of surviving. If you love your husband, despite the fact that he seems not to care for you, there are ways to turn the relationship around. It all begins by gaining some insight into what your spouse really feels for you.

As women we often try and read between the lines of our husband's behavior. If he's moody or distant we take that on and blame ourselves. It's not uncommon for a woman who is living with a temperamental man to believe he has stopped loving her. If he's not saying it anymore or acting as though he doesn't care, it's easy to see why you'd jump to that conclusion.

Take a good, long look at your husband's life in general. You need to consider what goes on beyond the limits of your relationship. Is he struggling with work issues? Has he been having conflict with friends or family members? Is he dealing with health problems? Anything like this can change the way a man interacts with his wife. Men tend to hold their emotions inside and then direct that frustration at the person they feel closest to. In this case, that's you.

You may be misreading your husband's dislike of you. Perhaps he's just feeling overwhelmed by what's going on in his life. Maybe you two have been arguing over something for some time and it's finally wearing him down. Your job right now is to try and look past your own hurt feelings and see what your husband is dealing with.

If a man feels that his wife has stopped being emotionally supportive, he'll retreat into himself. That behavior will often be misinterpreted. That may actually be happening within your marriage right now. It's a vicious emotional circle that begins when one partner feels the other isn't there for them. Then their partner picks up on the disconnection and before long they both believe the other doesn't care.

Take the initiative here and start treating your husband the way you want him to treat you. Marriages are partnerships and quite often when one person reaches out, the other will follow suit. Let go of any past resentment you may be holding onto and just try and focus on his positive qualities. If you make a strong effort to be compassionate and loving with your husband you'll see a noticeable change in how he treats you too. Sometimes we have to steer our marriage the direction we want it to go.

The 4 Things I Would Do First To Save My Marriage

Many people with difficult marriages often cry out "How can I save my marriage?" That happens because they don't know what to do to prevent their divorces.

Having written some articles myself teaching others how to save their marriages, I do sometimes get questions from people asking me how I would save my marriage if I was on the brink of divorce.

If you've been itching to ask me the same question, then let me tell you that here are 4 things I'll do first as they lay a good foundation for me to save my marriage.

I'll Determine My Outcome First

That means before I even do anything to save my marriage, I will ask myself what I hope to end up with.

The problem with many couples these days is this. They want to prevent their divorces and make their marriages work, but they don't even have a clue as to what they hope their marriages would become.

It's different for every couple, so I would think about what my idea of an ideal marriage is. Only then would I know what to do to work toward it. If not, all I'm doing is saving my marriage certificate and nothing else.

I'll Take Responsibility For My Marriage

That means I'll stop playing the blame game and think it's all my wife's fault that the marriage is failing. Instead, I'll take responsibility too. After all, it takes two hands to clap in a marriage and I'll have to do my part to save my marriage.

Many people fail to realize this point and they are quick to play the blame game, especially if their partners get into an affair with someone else. They start thinking that their partners are 100% wrong without even pondering why their partners would get into an affair in the first place.

So are you in the same situation? Do you shift all the blame to your partner because you think you're 100% blameless? Then it's time you take responsibility for your marriage and do your part to save it.

I'll Critique My Behaviour

Once I've accepted the responsibility, I'll critique my own behaviour next.

Divorces don't happen overnight. They happen when big and small tensions build up overtime. So I'll take a hard look at my behaviour and see what went wrong.

Did I spend too little time with my wife? Did I take her for granted? Was I too harsh with her that she didn't feel loved and looked for someone else? Whatever they may be, I'll take time to determine the roots of the problem and list them down so I know what I need to improve on.

I'll Commit To Save My Marriage

Marriage takes commitment, even when I'm trying to save it. And that's why the final of the 4 steps to save my marriage is to commit myself to saving it.

Commitment will help me to press on even when I can't seem to see how my marriage can be salvaged. So if saving your marriage seemed like a daunting task and you're about to give up, make it a commitment to save your marriage. You'll be surprised at how commitment will carry you through.

So there you have it, the 4 things I'll do to lay a good foundation to save my marriage. Do them for yours and you'll also lay a good foundation upon which your marriage can be saved.
