''WHAT ARE WE''

This is common amongst us, a question asked to ascertain how the other person feels about us. It is asked by a person who has an interest in a relationship.

Imagine a world without people in it, a month without talking with anyone, I don't think anyone can live like that, these brings to mind the importance of communication. In Genesis, we see God communing with man, how he talked with Adam, also the motive behind the creation of Eve. It's usually said that the more you commune with a person the closer you both get, more about the person comes to light as the relationship gets stronger. This is the same with God.

Today, we see all kinds of relationships, there's the, talking stage, Bestie, Husband/Wife, Mentor/Mentee, parent/children, Boss/employee and so on. However, one thing is common in these relationships, and that is communication. Today we focus our communication skill on relationships that matter's to us, we even go ahead to ask for the status of the relationship, "what are we'', but amidst our various communications, we tend to forget the one we claim is number one in our lives, God. It is funny, the communication in other relationship is far above that with our most loved. It scary, cause it seems like each passing day brings more separation.

For example, in Exodus we see Moses climbing up mount Sinai to commune with God, we see him making requests like ''I beseech you, show me thy glory'', there was that relationship, we see God explaining to Moses why he cannot allow him see His face, they got so close, days were spent having a one on one talk, or was it Apostle Paul who spent three years with the Holy spirit in Arabia, seeking and communing with God. Just like every other relationship we're in, when one party neglects the other, the neglected one might cry and beg for a while but eventually he would reciprocate the action.

This particular motion is evident in a story I was remembered of in church the other day, the story of the ten Virgins, five of whom got the response "depart from me i know you not", eventually when the relationship is abadoned by one, the other party would reciprocate. Today, we might say that we are Christians, and we go to church, and we pray everyday, so we are good. Well I tell you, that it is not enough to be a Christian, as all of the ten were Virgins, but only those that had their lamps burning could enter, the rest had the door shut.

Today, no matter what you do for that guy, sleep over, give him your body, wake up cook, wash, clean and all that, once you don't have what he is looking for which is distinct to him, you're wasting your time. Today, wear the best of cloths, give the most, pray every day, if you don't have what God requires for you to enter His kingdom, my dear you would hear "Depart from me I know you not", if you don't have Salvation, you can't build the kind of relationship Moses had, you can't get close like Elijah did, and when you're not in a relationship with him, then definitely, he does not know you.

As we go about building our various relationships, we should not forget the one with God, have you stopped to ask Him, what you are to Him, when the scale is measured how close you are to Him, ask Him "what are we". Check that salvation experience, just to be sure, especially you that is a worker in church. Also check if you really commune with or it is, when you need that Favor, that Job, that witch to die, that car. If it is so then, a new intro is needed.

May God Help Us All.
