This valentine, you pulled out all the stops (as you thought, at least) and gifted your baby girl flowers and chocolate… again.

“Awwwwwn, I love them! Thanks, baby” She drawled in that pitchy voice that said something wasn’t quite right or true about that statement. In that instant, you knew you had messed up again. Judging from the movies though, you gave the best gifts a man could give on Valentine’s Day. Next year, you’re determined to do better or at least impress her a bit more, because, let’s face it, you really want her to know how deeply you feel about her. So, stick around and I’ll let you in on creative gift ideas for your special girl. What’s more? They won’t have you breaking the bank.

1. “Going down love lane” gift box

Women generally have a notion that while men do care, they have a hard time remembering important stuff. This is one reason why this gift will melt the socks off her feet. You could gather special mementos that let her know you remember how your love story formed and developed. The more you remember and include in this gift box, the merrier! Basically, go through your love story with your partner and remind her that you remember. This makes her secure in the fact that you love her and assures her that you are happy being with her.

2. Romantic date night

This literally never gets old! Get your girl to dress up nicely and take her somewhere fancy. Treat her like the queen she is, talk to her and look into her eyes as much as you can. Absolutely no distractions should be allowed. Spice things up with a candle-lit dinner and her favorite food choices. For once, urge her not to worry about the calories! You get the drift! Make it special and make it count.

3. CamelBak MultiBev or any other practical gift

This idea scores mega points in the romance and sustainability department. The MultiBev doubles as both a coffee and water holder. By gifting your girl this, she has a handy water bottle to drink from and also a reusable coffee bottle. This way, she’s both hydrated and saving the world! Yaay! This gift is both romantic and functional and will be there long after the flowers have wilted. To heat things up a bit, you could combine this with some assorted dark chocolate gift boxes or other preferred desserts.

4. Earrings

This is another way to hit it big with your girl on Valentine’s Day. Essentially, every woman loves jewelry and has space in her life for more. One of the best gifts you can give your girl is a pair of lovely earrings. Make sure to choose something she’ll normally wear or have, or better yet, something she keeps ogling at the jewelry shop. Extra points for you if they are diamonds because you know, diamonds are forever. By gifting her diamond earrings, you’re saying, “I’m here and I want this to last.” Boy! is she sure to swoon over that one. Except she doesn’t like diamonds. In that case, strike this off your list, PLEASE!

5. Bags

Here’s one statement your girl will probably never tire of hearing “I love your bag!” She’ll light up like a Christmas tree as she says “Yeah, thanks!” Of course, if you’re right beside her holding her hands, she might even add, “My boyfriend got me this for Valentine’s!” And you’ll be on the receiving end of another huge smile. My point? Chances are good that your girlfriend loves bags! So, buy her one, especially one that you know she’d love to have. This will impress her in no small way and help her appreciate your thoughtfulness. If you can’t guess what bag she wants, ask her girlfriends, they would know!

6. Go to concerts together

This is an all-time favorite as well, especially if you both share a love of the same kind of music. Buy those highly coveted tickets and gift them to her for Valentine’s Day. Especially if she’s been dying to go. As you guys hold hands and rock to your favorite songs, she’ll remember why she fell in love with you in the first place and is sure to keep falling.
