"They Don't Know What I'm Going Through..." - Toyin Abraham Opens up About Fertility Journey

Toyin opens up

By Jide OkonjoPublished 6 months ago 3 min read

Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham is opening up now about her fertility journey, womb watchers, and how horrible and insidious it is for people to perpetually ask a woman if she's pregnant, or what is going on with her body as regards to pregnancy and fertility. She further disclosed personal details about her own life and how a doctor was waiting on standby for her during the premiere of her latest movie, "Malaika".

The "Ijakumo" actress made the revelation during a recent interview with TVC's "Your View" where she spoke about her experience with womb watchers and prying people who don't know what she's been going through. Here's what Toyin Abraham had to say about the issue.

Speaking about how traumatic womb watchers and people who constantly ask women about their pregnancy and fertility journeys can be, Toyin Abraham opened up saying:

TOYIN ABRAHAM: More than traumatic. People ask me when I am giving birth. I have a son and God gave me a daughter (from her husband’s previous relationship). I have a son and a daughter yet people ask me when I will give birth to another. Telling me that Ire, my son is already old enough for a sibling. I would smile and tell them very soon and they would tell me don’t say very soon. They don’t even know what I am battling with. Even on my premiere day, my doctor was there, he had to be on standby for me.

“Don’t ask questions, a few weeks ago people thought I was pregnant because I had a tummy, you don’t even know what was wrong with me. You don’t even know if I am on fertility drugs or a fertility journey, so stop telling people when are you going to be a mother.
