One morning I was listening to a morning radio show segment called forgive and forget. There was 2 stories I heard that morning that really had me thinking and giving my advice out loud in my car.

So I will tell the stories and give my advice/thoughts after each story.

Story #1: A guy got a quiche and ate half of it then took the rest to his girlfriend at work. The girlfriend's coworker told her it was a power move, so she got mad. I think she was asking for space but then she got stranded in her car on the side of the road and asked him to help. He didn't go because she was needing space. So she got mad and that's when her boyfriend called the radio station and they had it out. I don't think they survived.

My thoughts/ advice: They're both in the wrong. She should have never listened to her co worker. Some people do not have your best interest at heart not everyone is your best friend. People are just miserable. Not everything is a power move. Especially if he said "hey I got this and do you want the rest of it?" I don't understand why she then called him for a rescue if he was power tripping? Since she did call he should have not let her stay there. This couple sounded like they shouldn't be together until they work through some stuff. Maybe they should not be with anyone until they do some work on themselves.

Story #2: This girl called in saying she thinks her fiancé found out that she saw a text saying that she saw her ex for closure. He had looked at her phone. In reality he had seen texts where she said he was the safe choice. She claims that she meant that he made her feel safe. He felt like she was settling for the safe choice. Then she told him (on air) about seeing her ex for closure he got mad and hung up. Safe to say I don't think they went through with the wedding.

My thoughts/advice: So usually when people say that someone is the safe choice it means that they're ole reliable, they're safe and probably boring. It may even come across as that you are settling for the safe option. It will make the safe option feel unwanted and settled for which is not what you want people to feel. You wouldn't want to feel that it would you? If they make you feel safe say that. It is not what you say it's how you say it. It is never just about the intent. If you don't want people finding out about what you say then don't say it especially don't text it. If you text it you give up deniability. Then there is the whole thing with the ex. Why did you go? If you were happy in your relationship you wouldn't have gone. If he needed closure then just hear him out through text and forgive him if that is the closure he needed but tell the ex that you're not available. Some guys say they need closure but really they just want to see if they can get back with you. Don't take the risk of sending the wrong message.

Closing statement: dating is cooked because no one knows what the hell they're doing and no one knows how to communicate. Everything has a double meaning and nothing means what it used to mean anymore. Everyone is so angry and passive aggressive. We need to all touch grass.
