The Source of Hate Exists in Our Separation of Time and Space

How rethinking the nature of time and space can help us cherish each other and our homes

At ground zero, remnants of hatred radiate outward

In time and space still enveloping everything in its path

But what if the ensuing chaos that followed could be swallowed up?

Too late, times arrow runs forward neither does history compensate

However, it should elucidate — quick before all evidence dissipates

Follow the trails of vapor to find the root cause of such hate

Wait! Was it the moment a supreme state gave itself permission to test its superiority?

Justifying it even in shows of strength, by breaching the fundamental laws of ethics through a process of fission

That led to the most destructive of all chain reactions

That not only heralded the greatest split ever conceived

But furthered our division and fast forward

The consequences of such actions remain present in shadow engravings

Exists in the minds of alt-right nationalist in claims of supremacy

Or in the hijacking of controlled narratives from victors of history

Persisting however minute in the minds of the apathetic

As it breeds with continuing indifference

Or perhaps in long-held beliefs (of some) that migrants take jobs and come to occupy claimed spaces

Yet conquests of Alexander, Caesar, Cortez, Leopold are accepted

And failures to admonish Hitler’s quest of lebensraum (rightful place) came too late?

Hate manifests in distance shared and indifference

Further written in documents with goals set out to exclude and invade

Yet lay claim there are perils at bay — now growing more sophisticated

When employed through pervading screens, penetrating self-esteems,

Demonizing marginalized, branding outsiders extremists in efforts to accelerate misplaced rage

Negating us all from seeing the truth and deeper issue at stake

That the source that bore us all will further separate

Leaving us disconnected with little chance of peace love, and understanding

See, even sympathy garnered for the displaced fades unless somehow images of victims

Beaming to screens worldwide fuel movements that may gather steam but most victims

Remain nameless and anonymous while some other movements reach hashtag status

And are backed by influencers who skirt blaming the collective responsible for these predicaments and ignore the root of it

While privileged yet angry voices fuss over others occupying their homes and their spaces

That was taken in the first place yet invoke terra nullius and rightful place

See, some never leave their place, or make painstaking journeys

Either habitually engrained or generally stuck in their milieu

Or fortunate to have ancestors who pillaged, invaded (to their benefit) and cut themselves off from the source with distance,

Indifference, ignorance, and with their only form of the up-rootedness experienced, is present in spirit

Perhaps from relentless destruction of lands and resources in their search of material possession

And disconnection by the gears of modernism and even the manufacture of information that warps the reality around them

As hate and power struggles overlap and possessing space has never been more contentious

These actions reverberate for generations, generations which will have to pay for it

But hope exists if we can override such acts that reciprocate, educate and compensate

Though hate will not be corrected by placating or tolerating it

Reconnection to the source must involve bridging the separation

Or acknowledging relativity — the relationship between the space-time continuum

And all things, or Darwin’s Origin of species notwithstanding

The twisted, manipulated logic of eugenicists who exploit such changes and mutations

As tools, while forgetting that the colors of our eyes, hair, skin

That something as trivial and beautiful is neglected by the fact that conditions

Or time spent in sun or altitude could alter such things.

Even the aid of continental breaks means drifting away, along with neglect

Of our descendants from Denisovan, Neanderthal to Erectus

And any other detachment or migration event

See, distance from the source changes things

As does the difference in beliefs, race, gender, politics, disparity

To the indifference of catastrophic mushroom clouds or any form of raised fists

Though nothing is more powerful than nature’s greatest architect

The fabric of time and space or the gift it gave us - life and conscious thought

And despite nature’s law of decay, we must be architects

To stir revolution, through the evolution of our perceptions or knowing our origins

For relativity suggests that mass is forged and makes its mark in time and space

Anything contained in this universe follows this system, therefore even hate

Can be eradicated if we traverse through history to trace the separation or to give hate no more space to manifest

In order to grant the promise of time and space for reconciliation, appreciation,

And remembrances of things past and sacred

Such as the journey of our ancestors and our single source origins

Hopes of converging forward where difference is celebrated strengthens us

Like a melting pot of shared ideas, joys, and more than ever;

In the reminder of shared breath, circumstance, and disappearing lands

Despite being connected by a wide world web

Livelihoods existing outside this domain largely remains ignored

When voices are granted to those who speak loudest

And masses give attention to idolatry seekers over visionaries

Who spoke of the universal truth of peace and justice;

‘Do not follow leaders,’ ‘Emancipate yourself,’ for god’s sake if Garvey

Had another chance to express himself, or through Marley

Who made it accessible enough for those to catch on

To raise our fists and resist, or to get down on our knees, to take a stand

Or to stand your ground and utilize all of these things like Kaepernick proudly taking a knee in spite of rhetoric then great

And so such actions should be admired and repeated

Though not on someone’s neck for heaven’s sake, especially if they say they can’t breathe

How more rudimentarily can it be expressed of the need

For virtues and working together while not just taking cues

From self-congratulatory elites or so-called liberals

Whose views may only differ from their counterpart in matters of rainbow pride

Or with pro-lifers who mask their care for lives purely out of control and only care about lives when they’re white

Yet remaining divided in shows of support towards the occupy movement

Or financial institutions and bringing the fight to the one percent

Albeit while owning mansions and campaigning climate change while flying private jets

To willingly defending friends committing wrongdoings on basis of talent, connections or frankly moral absence

Which fails to see that victims rightfully speaking up weeds out and punishes predators with consequence, no matter how privileged

Demonstrating nothing is sacred, even politicians, especially ones who fail to acknowledge

The rise of greenhouse gases and rising sea levels which are just as urgent

As rising hate movements that are ticking time bombs ready to detonate

Which does not help when politicians themselves participate in spreading the rhetoric

There’s no future without rectifying the past, let’s not rely on hashtag status

It only limits voices of the unspoken, the silenced albeit

Is it really enough to Stop Asian Hate or make Black Lives Matter?

These centuries-old issues in the making are encompassed by something greater and have existed as long as we have been silent

Want to make an actual difference? Let’s not forget the plights either of those who have existed and now those who exist on the fringes

And extend the same thought to plants, animals and the importance of ecosystems that sustain us, better yet our home planet

See, we may hope these things will resolve themselves but it hinges on the ability of leaders and ourselves;

To combat our inner demons, fears, prejudices, ignorances

To learn the lessons of history, to not be indifferent and to even remember the preciousness of the breath

We’ve had more than a year already to reflect and to reset

And if we want the normalcy or freedoms we think we had then

Perhaps it will only be achieved when injustice is corrected and freedom is for all

To be safe from harm whether from hate or disasters (natural and man-made)

Or even pandemics brought on from viruses (albeit non-discriminate themselves)

The lesson is, such things that threaten us and our livelihoods and our homes can be tempered

With attention, care and bridging our differences in order to pave a future for us to all coexist - for our very lives depend on it
