Young, Dumb, & Broke...

Sometimes the only someone you have is yourself...

Oh, to be in love during your youth. It feels as if your life cannot possibly get any better. You have met the person that is making you feel some sort of way you've never felt before. You feel as if your life is complete and it could only sunshine and rainbows from here on out. As if you must have done something right in life to have such an amazing person by your side. You tell yourself, "this person is the one, and no one can change that." Well, that's not always the case. Bad things don't happen to good people, right? Well I'm sorry to break it to you but it can happen. Now I'm not telling you life is not always going to be painful but there will be times in which it will be.

Hi, I'm Israel. Just a tall high school senior from the middle of nowhere. We might not ever meet or ever hear each other's stories, but I'll present you mine. A story of a boy full of curiosity, seeking comfort in this beautiful "perfect" world. I had recently started going to a place with, many people, different people, and new people. I was scared, not of the people but of the experiences and memories I knew I was going to make there. As time went on, my life seemed to have found purpose. It seems as if I have finally found my calling as a musician and I was able to experience that with people that have certainly have changed my life. One of them being, her. There she was...staring deep into my soul with her beautiful big brown eyes as I was playing the drums. I got the butterflies each time I would take a peek, but i simply couldn't get the courage to speak to her. I couldn't even say hello for crying out loud! She made feel a way that I had never felt in my life, it just simply cannot be explained in words. I just came to the conclusion that she was way out of my league, plus she's 2 years older than me. That beautiful being needed a man, not some little 15 year old who doesn't even have facial hair. There was no way I would ever to able to have some sort of conversation with such a person. Little did I know that she was thinking otherwise.

One day as I was heading out she said hello and introduced herself, I froze. My brain was struggling to process what was going on. After a few seconds I was able to catch my breath and introduce myself. Little did I know that those few seconds I had just experienced were gonna change my life, forever. Weeks went by of us talking, it eventually got to the point where we were inseparable friends. I couldn't go through a day without thinking about her voice or smile. I realized, I was falling in love with my bestfriend, the person who was a stranger to me just months ago in a place where I felt alone. As the days went on, we started throwing little hints of interest at each other. I would give her the compliments she deserved and all that good stuff and she would do the same. I needed to make a move asap but how and where? I have no car and the only time I'm with her, there are other people around. There had to be a moment where I can get her alone, then it hit me. Her aunt's wedding was coming up on the 29th of April and I told myself that was the day I was going to make a move.

It's the 29th of April and I'm terrified, today is either going be the best day of my life or the worst. I was going to make a move on my bestfriend who I have fallen in love with over a few months. The wedding was great! Her and I had a blast hanging out, taking pictures, and making dozens of memories. It's as if I saw a new side of her and I realized I was not making a mistake, she was the best thing that ever happened to me. As the night went on I was trying to gain my courage to make a move by the end of the night.

I invited her outside for a stroll, she was delighted and approved. We came up to this beautiful garden with a soothing waterfall in the middle. We sat down and some chairs and just started talking and laughing. Then came a window when I knew that was my shot to go for a kiss. So I went for it, but she just happened to drop her fork and went down to grab it at that exact moment. To me that was a sign from the heavens telling me to retreat from the mission. I was devastated because she never realized I was going for a kiss...
