"They say dreams are the windows of the soul--take a peek and you can see the inner workings, the nuts and bolts. "

Dreams...once thought to be the words of the Gods, have been recorded and written about for centuries. The Complete Dream Book is drawn from the researches of England's Ancient Path, a Brotherhood or Society dedicated to preserving occult knowledge. The Ancient Path (owners of the copyright to this content) originated with the Sarn Gwythellin, the holy road of the Druids from southeast England to the island of Anglesey in Wales. Pilgrims walked the holy way from all the centers of Europe to be educated by the Druids. The Brotherhood arose when the Romans invaded Britain and has remained largely hidden ever since. Some of the symbols recorded below seem rather dire. It should be remembered that in the sometimes contrary way in which the occult works, 'bad' symbols can mean good things, as you will see below.

E:

Eagle – Killing an eagle in a dream is a mostly bad omen (just like it is in real life). Killing the bird is a sign of success in a venture or project—but if you then eat the flesh of the bird it is a sign of the deepest grief ahead. If you dream only that the eagle soaring in the skies in all its glory it is a warning that your ego is filled with conceit and ambition never to be fulfilled. Perhaps it is time for self-examination.

Ears -- Human or animal ears seen in a dream have several meanings. To see well formed ears, male or female means that you are soon to form a valuable friendship of a professional nature. If the ears are overly large, or have exceptionally large lobes, it is a sign that you have low instincts to overcome. If the ears are dirty in any way, it is a sign that you have a propensity for theft that will lead to certain trouble. If the ear or ears have been cut off and you see the severed ear or the head without the ear (as in Van Gogh), it means that treachery at work is soon to be expected.

Earthquake – Dreaming that you see an earthquake, or are in the earthquake, is a sign of great immediate peril. While this is a ‘general’ omen that can mean peril of any kind, it is an especially powerful omen if you live in an earthquake prone area (anywhere in Japan, San Francisco…). For you it then means that an actual earthquake is in the near future.

Eating -- If you see yourself of others eating in a dream it is a sign that competitors in the workplace are working against you. Echo – If you hear echoes of sounds on your dreams in means that you will suffer from an illness in the near future.

Eclipse – If you witness and eclipse of the moon in a dream it is an omen of sorrow. If you dream of an eclipse of the sun instead, it is a sign that current projects will not be successful and a loss of finances will follow.

Eel – Dreaming of a live eel means that you will have a period of hard work ahead. If you dream of a dead eel, it is a sign of great success in all your current undertakings.

Eggs – To see fresh unbroken eggs in a dream is an omen of good fortune ahead. To see broken eggs is a sign of financial loss.

Elephant – Seeing an elephant in a dream means that good fortune is ahead. If you are facing an elephant head on it means that you will soon render someone a service—and it will repay you tenfold. If you dream of riding an elephant, it is a sign that your personal vanity is great and will cause you trouble in a future relationship.

Elopement – Dreaming of eloping with a partner is a sign that a marriage is in the near future--yours or that of a close friend or family member.

Embroidery – Lace or embroidery work in a dream is a sign of extreme ambition on the part of the dreamer—and that these ambitions will not met with success.

Embracing – See Hugging below. Empress – Dreaming of an Empress means that duplicity among workmates or friends is working against you.

Enemy – A dream in which you triumph over an enemy is a sign that a lawsuit is soon to be won, yours or that of an associate. If you dream of conversing on good terms with an enemy it means ruin or personal disaster of some kind is ahead. If you dream of actually enjoying the company of an enemy it is a sign that thoughtless confidence on your part will lead to significant troubles.

Engagement – Being or becoming engaged in a dream to a handsome partner signifies great pleasures ahead. If the partner is decidedly unattractive then, worry, even grief lies ahead.

Ewe – If you dream of ewes (sheep) it is a sign that you will enjoy a faithful and valuable friendship. If the ewe seems ill or exhausted in some way, it means that a period of great fatigue is coming.

Execution – The greatest of luck will befall you if you dream of being hanged or beheaded—another sign that a lottery ticket might be a good investment. If you dream instead of someone else being hung or executed, it is an omen indicating that someone close to you will be unfaithful.

Exhumation – Even if you are an undertaker, dreaming of exhuming a human body is an omen of some personal disaster or general disaster that you will witness. If you are the one exhuming the body, it means that colleagues around you have treasonous intentions towards you.

Exile – To dream that you are going into exile is a highly favorable omen. To dream that you are returning from exile means that some great sorrow is ahead.

Explosion – Seeing, and especially hearing, an explosion in a dream is a sign of death in the family.

Eyes – Dreams about eyes are generally a sign of good luck. The prettier, the purer, the clearer the eyes the better the luck. If instead the eyes are bloodshot or yellow or generally unhealthy, it is a sign that temporary troubles are in store for you.

Eyebrows – If, with our without a dream about eyes, you notice that the eyebrows on a face are noticeable or dominant, it is a sign of unfortunate, even terrible, events ahead. These events may even include your own death.
