Are Emotional Affairs and Texting the New Way People Cheat in Love?
In a world driven by constant digital connection, emotional affairs and texting have emerged as the modern form of infidelity—one that’s often invisible but deeply destructive. Secret messages, late-night chats, and emotional intimacy shared through screens increasingly threaten today's relationships, while physical cheating used to be the ultimate betrayal.

The Window Across the Street
The Window Across the Street By : Sami ullah When Emma moved into her small apartment in the city, she didn’t expect her days to feel so quiet. The walls were thin, the nights long, and the only sound that kept her company was the hum of passing traffic. Across the street stood another building — old, brick-red, with rows of square windows like faded memories. In one of those windows, she often saw him — a man in his thirties, maybe forties, always sitting by his desk with a cup of coffee and a book. They never spoke. Never waved. But somehow, the sight of him brought her a strange kind of comfort — like she wasn’t as alone as she thought. --- 🌤️ The First Hello It happened one cold Tuesday morning. Emma woke up late, her coffee machine refusing to work, and she felt that familiar ache of loneliness sink in. Out of habit, she looked out her window. He was there — the man across the street — scribbling something in a notebook. On a sudden impulse, she grabbed her whiteboard marker and wrote on the glass: > “Morning ☀️” When he looked up and saw it, he blinked in surprise — then smiled. He disappeared for a moment and came back holding a piece of cardboard with messy handwriting: > “Good morning, neighbor ☕” She laughed out loud for the first time in weeks. That was how it began. --- 💬 The Window Conversations Day after day, they exchanged little messages through the glass. Sometimes she’d write, “How’s your day?” He’d reply, “Too much work, not enough coffee.” When it rained, he’d draw little doodles of clouds and lightning bolts. When it snowed, she’d tape paper snowflakes to her window. It was simple. Wordless. But it meant everything. For Emma, who worked from home and had recently lost her mother, those moments became her quiet lifeline. She didn’t even know his name — but she knew when he looked sad, when he was tired, and when his laughter filled the whole street with warmth. --- 🕯️ The Night the Window Stayed Dark Then one evening, his window stayed dark. No light. No shadow. No message. At first, she thought maybe he’d gone out. But the next day, and the day after that — still nothing. The silence pressed on her chest like a weight. Finally, on the third night, she took a small piece of paper, wrote “Are you okay?”, and taped it to her window. No answer came. --- 🌧️ The Rain and the Letter On the fourth morning, it was raining hard. Emma sat by her window, trying not to worry. That’s when she saw it — a movement across the street. The man’s window flickered to life, and he appeared, pale but smiling faintly. He held up a cardboard sign: > “Hospital. Fever. I’m okay now. Thank you.” Emma’s heart swelled with relief. She smiled and wrote back: > “Glad you’re home. Get some rest.” He grinned, nodded, and drew a little heart on his window before pulling the curtains. --- 🌤️ Spring and Small Miracles Days turned into weeks, and the city slowly warmed with spring. Their window notes grew brighter — doodles of flowers, jokes about pigeons, short poems that made each other laugh. Then one morning, Emma woke to find a paper airplane resting on her balcony. She picked it up, unfolded it, and read: > “I think it’s time we said hello properly. Coffee? — The Guy Across the Street.” Her heart fluttered. She looked up — and there he was, standing at his window, holding his cup up like a toast. She wrote back one word on her window: > “Yes.” --- ☕ The Meeting That afternoon, under a soft golden sun, they met at the café on the corner — the one they’d both passed a hundred times. He introduced himself as Daniel. His smile was exactly how she imagined — kind, shy, and full of quiet stories. They talked for hours, realizing how much they already knew about each other without ever having spoken a word. --- 💭 Final Thought: Sometimes, connection doesn’t begin with words. Sometimes, it begins with a smile across the street — and a message written on a fogged window. Because in a world that often feels distant, kindness — even in silence — still finds its way home.

Unmasking the Narcissistic Persona: A Practical Guide
The term "narcissist" has become ubiquitous in modern conversation, often used loosely to describe anyone with a noticeable degree of self-absorption. However, pathological narcissism—a pervasive and enduring pattern of thought and behavior—is far more complex and insidious. For those navigating personal or professional relationships, discerning the presence of genuine narcissistic traits is a critical skill for self-preservation. It is not about simply identifying a love for compliments, but rather recognizing an underlying, fragile psychological structure that relies on the manipulation and exploitation of others for sustenance.

Lesbian Erasure . Content Warning.
This has been as striking year for me. In reality I have learned so much about myself as a black lesbian in her late 20’s. Exposed and open by my spiritual work I realize that I’ve been living on the DL ( down low) in ways that make me not as open to my own lesbian energy and not actualizing my desire for same-sex love.
