Whether written centuries ago or just last year, literary couples show that love is timeless.
Isa'ray
The gurgling stream sounded like a man being strangled. Isa'ray shuddered, and tried to ignore the sound. Next to her, the child whimpered. Isa'ray slowed her ragged breathing and clutched trembling hands to her sides so the child wouldn't see her fear.

THAT Philippine holiday pushed through but only after eighteen months. Dahlia was strongly urged by her sister to schedule her arrival for the inauguration and blessing of the Happy Kiddies School. As Dahlia had a share in its ownership, it would be good for her to be present. The opening of the kindergarten, as Aster stressed, would also be timed to coincide with the surprise birthday celebration of their aunt for her 60th.

Tawny did not see Elaine for the remainder of the day, or evening for that matter. That was all well and good; Tawny had orientation early the next morning. At least she wouldn't have to worry about staying up all night gabbing with a new BFF.

The chattering of my teeth drowned out my thoughts of self-hatred as I realized how wildly under-dressed I was to be outside. . .in Boston. . .in the middle of January. As I waited for the perpetually delayed B-line on Harvard Ave., I tugged my scarf up over my mouth and nose and attempted to nuzzle deeper into my coat as another gust of wind all but blew the skin clear off my bones. There was nothing I could do for my exposed thighs other than pray I fight off the frostbite. Misery.

One by one the lights went out. Or rather were not rekindled. The ribbon of twinkles seen from space grew thinner, patchier, and in places disappeared altogether.

Sometimes you often wonder if the true test of a woman’s virility lies in the salacious acts she commits... or if she has to find out the hard way that it’s all in her mind...

My life began with a crayon on a page. The glittering thick wax in the hands of a child smeared a mark that did not form a particular word or remain between my well-printed lines. The small, dainty hand gripped that crayon and dragged it across my first page without any particular sense of direction. Most notebooks might think it to be a very ungraceful coming into this world, but for me it will always stand as the greatest experience I will ever have. It was a grand awakening full of passion, brightness and glee!

“This is not correct.” He said, abruptly thrusting the ATM receipt towards the unsuspecting bank clerk, who instinctively jerked her head back and away from the man’s outstretched hand. Regaining her composure, she patiently reached out, stopping the man’s trembling hand to remove the receipt.

I was in the middle of my twenty-seventh email to a literary agent. “No werewolves, no vampires, no erotica,” the profile warned.
Finding Code
She grabbed her crampons, phone and keys. Her 18 month old son was already snug in his baby carrier, swung high up on her upper back and shoulders. After releasing her maniacal dog from the trunk, who darted off up the snow covered trail that ran parallel with the empty skill hill, she followed in earnest. 2021 had started with tremendous hope but instead mankind seemed to be tumbling into a deeper, seemingly hollow, abyss. The mountain cleared her head. Made her feel alive. Collected her thoughts. Usually around forty five minutes, the ascent was challenging yet invigorating. Through the forest, following the meandering trail. Snow shoes had carved a decent thoroughfare, but the deep snow gave the familiar path a new sense of adventure. Listening to her son singing and cooing behind her, she smiled, content in the moment, enjoying the sun peaking through the snow covered trees, onto her face. Upon reaching a small foot bridge, she slowed to navigate the path, taking extra care over the rougher terrain. While watching her footing, she noticed something odd and rather incongruous. Peaking out through the carpet of snow was a small, black moleskin notebook.

Rumor has it Josh Peterson was planning on being completely naked underneath his graduation gown. Not only that, but the moment after he gets his diploma and shakes Principal Gussman’s hand he is going to flash the entire senior class and all those attending the ceremony.

FOREVER CHANGED “Shit!” Jerry gasped as he stepped out of the small electronics shop. It was a cool twenty-eight degree night in Barre Vermont. His fingers already stiffened as he fumbled for the keys, locking up for the day.
