I did mean to make you cry
Today, I am making a video. Tomorrow, I will make people cry. Tomorrow I will be at my day job, teaching high school. These are not the people who will be crying, hopefully. Tomorrow there will be a funeral. The video I am making today will be played at that funeral, and people will cry.

Suddenly Having Money
I did it, I finally sold my house. It had been a 5-to-6 year process. I was supposed have sold it back in 2015 as part of the ( legal) process of getting my Dad into a nursing home. I'm not going to go into the detail as my memory fails me for detail, and most things these days and it was a long, very involved legal and financial process, a veritable pain-in-the-ass. All I know is that my fathers income I was using to pay the bills was gone, since I was very underemployed staying at home and caring for him and eventually he needed 24 hour care. I tried to find work in the niche I wanted to work in, part-time health care and/or clerical positions. I wasnt very sucessful as all these positions, most I sought through temporary hiring agencies and the positions they provided were full-time.

A different country
I grew up in Ireland in the 1970s and 1980s — Southern Ireland that is. Now that probably brings to mind a lot of assumptions not only about me but also my upbringing. The thing is I was brought up in a Protestant family (actually adopted — but that’s a story for another time), so that meant I was in a minority subculture. Not only that but parts of the history of that subculture had, not that long ago, been part of an oppressive, and abusive empire. All that meant that there were some messages given to me, both verbal and implied, about who I was and was supposed to be. Some of it was relevant, but much of who I thought I was as an Irish person was in fact erroneous and fed into my insecurities well.
