No Date Intended
No Date Intended Their weekly pizza and beer lunch had been subsumed by the Covid-19 pandemic for a year, and now they were on only their second zoom meet. The reason for this video meet was that all four of them were now two weeks past their second vaccination shots and were now part of the 12% percent of Americans who were fully immunized. And restrictions for the fully immunized had been loosened.

The Blind Date
ALEXANDRA’S POV It was a beautiful Afternoon I am sitting at a cute little Café by the beach waiting for Noah my blind date. I decided to come early just so I can gather my thoughts and I was nervous so I ordered a glass of Merlot just to ease my nerves. I close my eyes and lean my head against the wall the silence is beautiful… I am not sure how long I am there for when I hear heavy footsteps heading towards me. I open my eyes the sun is so bright it causes me to squint once my eye sight finally settles the man standing in front of me takes my breath away. “hi you must be Alexandra” “hi" I answered my voice softer than I meant it to be “you must be Noah please have a seat “I say as single to the chair in front of me. Noah is tall, with black hair and a well-kept beard, his lips are beyond perfect and his eyes are the perfect mahogany, he has a killer smile that shines brighter than the sun . “ I am in trouble” I thought this man will become more important than anyone else has ever been. We begin talking and the conversation just flows its easy he takes my hand and electricity surges through my body; my heart is finally awake. Noah looks at me and says “let’s go for a walk on the beach" ….

Best Served With A Glass of Merlot
After throwing away my roommate’s empty Chipotle bag, I switched the pillows from the left side of the couch to the right side, then the middle, and then back again. I didn’t typically invite guys over, but Kelsi was working a double shift at the nursing home and I thought having a homefield advantage would calm my nerves. I was so wrong.

Wild Violets
A blanket of stars wrapped themselves around the building, as a fresh summer breeze made the ferns dance and the pines away. I wrapped my fingers around the over-sized brass handle, and took a deep breath. A blind date. This is fine. Angelica said that this guy was legit, and at least worth meeting over a glass of wine. I can do this.

Daniel
Every Friday night, my church held a youth group, and the only reason I went was to get away from my fighting parents. It was alright, but there was this annoying red-head named Daniel who liked to follow me around. My friends always laughed and teased, saying I'd end up as his girlfriend, and I would roll my eyes.

Senior Singles in Grand Rapids Are Finding Love Off-Line
There is a lot about dating that can be enjoyable, like meeting new people for the first time, feeling that rush of adrenaline and that awesome first spark of chemistry. It so exiting to see a new relationship blossom into a meaningful relationship. But sometimes, it can feel like those awesome moments are few and far in between, and all that browsing and sending messages online can feel like a part-time job. You’ve gone from being single and wanting to find love, to being single and hating looking for love online.

My date was a win.
First dates are the worst part of dating. Especially for a gay man. I made the classic mistake of trying to find a date on certain dating apps I won’t mention here. This did not turn out the way I had hoped, and some things I saw scarred me for life. So this time I did things the traditional way. Through a friend of a friend. When the other person agreed to a date, I was unprepared. I panicked and suggested the idea of a date at my house and I would cook dinner. Looking back on this I have zero clue why I didn’t just suggest the cinema or a restaurant but now I had to not only look nice but prepare food that didn’t kill them let alone impress them. I flipped through five cook books that had not been opened since I first purchased them and promised myself I would cook my own food. Fast food is a godsend, but my waist was expanding as fast as they cooked the food. I came across a few vegan meals that looked edible. Neither of us are vegan, but not using meat meant a lower chance of giving them food poisoning.
